TAKE THE CROWN is the international survival show that was broadcasted with the goal of finding the eight (8) girls that would make up SM’s new all female and foreign girl group. The plan was to hold auditions in America and Canada, selecting fifty (50) willing and able ‘trainees’. SM Entertainment had a vision, they knew what they were looking to create; it’s just a matter of who was going to tick the boxes. The eight girls chosen would take their places in the group announced as CRACKED CROWNS. The group was designed and created with the intention of taking over the world. To go global. And they would. It’s just a matter of time.

The top eight (8) trainees will be crowned with different crowns; each one referencing a certain key to their new respective kingdom. They’re also given the respective key to the kingdom; keys that hold different ancient relic powers, depending on the said key. Each crown has a small key like indentation where the key clicks in and the power of the keys is multiplied.

Each ‘trainee’s’ identity is unknown for the full course of the show; names and other information given could be factual while others could be made up on the spot. Their identity is shown once all eight spots are chosen as well as if someone gets eliminated. But until then, everyone wears a mask. Even the girls in the same groups are unaware of who their teammates really are. Only basic information is given in the introduction phase, and even some of that could be a lie; it’s up to the girls. In the introduction phase the ‘trainees’ get to decide what they get to tell from their auditions.

Throughout the course of the series there was different group ranks trainees were put in: ACE, KING, QUEEN, JACK, and JOKER. The mentors and hosts of the show are under the title of the ROYAL COURT.

In the end the HEIRS, the viewers of the show and ultimately the fandom name of the group, vote for their top twelve (12). Afterwards one (1) last challenge is presented and the final eight (8) will be chosen.

SCANDAL #1: TATTOO BACKLASH

Various member’s tattoos were shown on separate VLIVES and many fans were upset about the girls having them. RONI’s solo VLIVE, YUU + MY’s duo VLIVE, and ROWOON + OLIVIA’s duo VLIVE.

RUMOR #1: OLD-SCHOOL BULLYING

Alleged rumors surfaced about 98′ line member LEY, LIPSEY KANG / KANG EUN JUNG, bullying classmates. The bullying was said to have happened around 2016 and were claimed by a former classmate.

SCANDAL #2: HATE CLUB

CRACKED CROWNS members RONI, YUU, and MY supposedly didn’t like each other when the group first was formed. Other members explained that their practices had to be held in separate groups instead of having them all together. When they did have ot8 practices, they were very rare but did, on occasions, happen. Not many people know about this as it wasn’t really talked about.

RUMOR #2 : CONCERT CUDDLE-UP

CRACKED CROWNS center ROWOON was seen cuddled up to BLOCK B’s rapper KYUNG as a concert of BASTARZ, a subunit of three members of BLOCK B. The photos posted by other concert goers show the two lead rappers looking quite comfortably sat next to each other. A hand was placed on ROWOON’s thigh or an arm was draped over her shoulders while her head was rested on his shoulder. One video, from the angle, looked as if the two were sharing a quick kiss.

Although sometime in August 2021 the two announced their relationship, since March 2020, on their respective Instagram accounts

SCANDAL #3: RUDE + SOUR ATTITUDES

Various members were called out for allegedly have sour attitudes towards staff and other idols. SOYO, due to her acute ADHD, will often come off as rude due to some fans thinking she’s ignoring or not listening to people when they’re speaking to her since she’ll get distracted or offtrack. RONI often gets the allegations of often having ‘distasteful’ looks or appears to be speaking bad about idols when next to other idols or when the camera shows her in the audience while other idol groups perform. ROWOON allegedly yelled and harshly criticized the outfit options chosen by the stylists. She’s also been said to have a rather cold and ‘scary’ towards other idols. YUU had multiple allegations of being rude to fans. They centered around her and a few other members entering or leaving the airport or a award show building and pushed a few fans to get through as they were surrounding the girls and were unable to leave or enter the building.
