Greensboro Weddings, Right Down the Road

A cool perk of being in this business is the ability to travel around and be a part of celebrations all over. And we’re out and about so much, sometimes it’s easy to forget there are great venues right down the road! Though we love traveling, we have a soft spot for all Greensboro weddings.

We love Greensboro weddings not only because they’re where we got our start, but because we legitimately believe them to be some of the best in the state. And Double Oaks Bed and Breakfast is definitely on our favorite venues list.

When you have an awesome venue, it feels like everything else just falls into place. And when everything is running smoothly, you know it’s gonna be a good wedding.

We absolutely had a blast here. We were in charge of cocktail hour and reception, and it can safely be said it went off without a hitch. And the song selection for reception moments from the bride and groom were a big reason for this. When couples choose songs that not only are awesome in their own right, but mean something to them, you can just tell. And that’s the story of the music that night.

We could see everyone quietly boogieing in their seats at dinner to the Rat Pack-style playlist, and that energy only grew throughout the night. And with Miles Davis and Louie Armstrong providing first dance music, everyone could feel the cool, jazzy vibes.

Peak Energy

And once it was time to dance, the energy growth reached its zenith. Opening the dance floor with Santana and Flo Rida really got people in the mood to party. Then throughout the night we peppered in our own songs with hits chosen by the couple, from Lonely Island to the Backstreet Boys.

No dance party is ever the same. They all have their own individualized factors that make them unique. And that’s something that’s cool to witness as a wedding DJ. The ways that couples put their own spins on time-honored traditions is an amazing thing to be a part of. And it really comes out when the bride and groom request songs that are not only meaningful to them, but to their family and friends. Seeing everyone’s excitement when a song drops that they all used to get down to years ago is an unparalleled feeling.

Amazing Venue

Alright, alright, alright! This is what we love to see! You can tell by the photos below, taken by Muir Photography, this was a good time. The Harvest House did an amazing job with the venue, catering and the cake. This is definitely somewhere we hope we can come back to in the very near future.

The flowers were absolutely stunning. Summer Fresh Flower Farm did a fabulous job! The whole place looked amazing decked out with all these floral arrangements. Combined with the venue, it made for a phenomenal looking night

Amazing Music

DJ Freddie was definitely killing it. This is another one of those photos that hits a special spot in DJ’s hearts. Just seeing everyone singing and dancing and really being in the moment is amazing to see.

Everyone here was definitely feeling it. We had folks of all ages tearing it up on the dance floor. And that makes the night enjoyable for everyone. It really shows a DJs skills when everyone, young and old, are on the dance floor having a great time. And that was something we definitely saw a lot of here!

There Was Dancing

There’s a reason we’re in the business we’re in. We have a good time when we see everybody having a good time. And this wedding had a whole lotta good times.

We’ve seen people getting down on the dance floor. We see it very frequently. But this time… we can safely say that people were getting down. I mean, look at these pictures. There were so many of everyone tearing up the dance floor that it was honestly hard to pick just a few.

Coming Together

Seeing two families come together is absolutely awesome. But seeing them dancing together is even more awesome. We honestly were sad at the end of the night when the dancing came to an end. Everyone involved was throwing down hard and just having an all-out good time. And that’s what we like to see.

You can totally see what we’re talking about in these pics, too. Will Greene Photography really did such a great job of capturing all the exuberance of this evening.

We had a great time at this venue, too. We’ve always enjoyed traveling around Raleigh seeing all of the unique venues and meeting new people. This was definitely a cool one. It used to be a cattle ranch but has since been transformed into a super unique venue.

This Venue

What a beautiful Raleigh wedding! This wedding is a reminder that simple, clean and elegant is an amazing option! The Barn at Valhalla is absolutely gorgeous. We Were Warned

We were warned there would be a lot of dancing. And that’s something we hear from time to time in this business. But we didn’t realize there would be this much dancing. We’re not complaining though. It’s our job to get people up and moving. It’s just always awesome when everyone is trying to throw down.

We can’t say enough about this venue either. The refurbished barns can sometimes be tricky with our equipment. But everything went perfectly. And without having to worry about our equipment, we can focus all our energies on the couple. A good venue truly is key to a problem-free wedding. And we’ve got nothing but great things to say about this one.

When we hear that a wedding will be either outside or in a barn, we can be a little wary. So we went into this not knowing exactly what to expect. However, we shouldn’t have been worried at all. “I was SO insanely impressed with DJ Erik and the whole Dow Oak Events team. From the get go, their prices were reasonable and they were incredibly responsive (it took less than five minutes to hear back from them, I kid you not). These pictures were almost as much fun to go through as the wedding was to live through. Amanda Sutton Photography did a phenomenal job. Just look at these beauties! I wish I could have attached every photo in the gallery.

Faith and Patrick were such a great couple. It was apparent that laughter is a huge part of their life. And that’s just how way we like it! Not only can these two pull off elegance and class, but they also rock fun and joy fabulously.

Starting the Party

There was such excitement and bliss in Lake Lure Inn and Spa on this night in Asheville. These are the moments we like to see at Dow Oak Events.

It makes our heart sing when the fun spreads. This makes our job a lot easier! Look at how they admire each other. When the surroundings fade away is when it’s meant to be.

What an amazing night. With this send-off of all Faith and Patrick’s friends and family rooting for them, it’s obvious they’re both loved. What a success! It was a pleasure to be able to be a part of this marvelous day.

Full-on Rave

This wedding was seriously stunning. Everything looked amazing. But what really made it was the floral arrangements. These succulents came all the way from Holland! Not only did everything look amazing, but also the venue was awesome to work in. Everyone worked together towards one goal: making the day the best possible for the newlyweds.

And we definitely had a good time at this wedding. With all the vendors helping, everything went off without a hitch. When everyone works together, we can make everything go as smoothly as possible. For instance, we even brought water to the partying bride and groom so they didn’t have to leave the dance floor!

Guest Appearances

After the ceremony, we transitioned into a full-on rave. We also helped organize a guest appearance by another well-known DJ, Marshmello. With the help of the bride, we were able to bring a favorite DJ of the groom’s onto the team for this one. The groom was definitely surprised! A night of dancing, drinks, and donuts… what more could we want? That is to say, this couple and all the vendors are what made this party at The Lofts.

With the help of all our DJs, we kept the dance floor packed all night. In conclusion, thanks to the awesome lighting and amazing music, everyone had a great time.

“Oh my goodness. I can’t tell you how AMAZING my DJ, Ryan Green and his assistant Kameron Utterback of Dow Oak Events were at my wedding. Seriously, they kept the party alive the WHOLE NIGHT. They played EXACTLY what I wanted without me having to ask twice. I asked for the artist James Arthur to play for my cocktail hour (Not many people know who he is outside of his one song).

The very first song played was by him, and I look over, and both of them and they were both vibing out just as much as I was. The music was the most important part of my night. Considering I was a dance major in college and about 1/3 of the guests there were also dance/cheer/theater majors.
