'Cancer,' he said. Natasha looked at him with her trained eyes. Nothing would be given away. She was surprised more than anything. That wasn't something that she had heard before. At least his disappearances made sense now, but she didn't feel bad for being mad. In all honesty, she didn't know how to react. After a few moments she reached her hand across the table for him to take, "I won't give up. You're kind of stuck with me, sorry." A corner of her lips quirked upwards into a half-smile.
He swallowed and gave a sort of meek smile as he took her hand in return. He squeezed it gently and looked down, laughing a bit of a nervous laugh. He shook his head and swallowed. "You have... no idea how much it means to me to hear you say that," he said simply, grinning and looking back up at her. He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it gently.
