If you're still doing prompts, can you do Barbara and Nomura helping a redeemed Morgana reintegrate with troll and human society?
I may have gotten slightly off-topic with this one, but I still tried to keep it within the vein of Barbara and Nomura help Morgana figure things out.
âIn the name of Janus, I curse you!â
An ominous thud follows the yell from downstairs.
In the otherwise peaceful bedroom, a changeling, previously sleeping, opens her eyes. Â She looks over at her partner who, as a testament to her exhaustion, slumbers on.
Nomura smiles softly at Barbara. Â She strokes her girlfriendâs hair away from her face, kisses her forehead, and then slips out of bed in such a way that Barbara wonât be disturbed by her absence.
When she gets downstairs, Nomura crosses her arms and scowls at the one sitting on the couch. Â âYou want to tell me why you arenât asleep?â Â She snaps.
âOh, itâs you.â Â Morgana frowns back. Â âIsâ?â
âNo, Barbaraâs not coming down. Â She doesnât need to be up for this.â
The doctor got in only an hour or two ago. Â Considering the length of the shift she came off of and the amount of times Morgana has called upon her to âfixâ some issue or the other recently, Nomura determined she didnât need to deal with this one too.
âOh.â Â Morganaâs lips thin into a frown. Â âThat being the case, I think Iâllââ
âIf youâre having a problem, you will allow me to help you deal with it or it will go unresolved,â Nomura interrupts. Â âYou will not continue to bother Barbara like this.â
âThe only one bothered I see here is you, Nomura.â Â Morgana smirks. Â âItâs cute how you thinkââ
âGo to bed, Morgana,â Nomura commands. âAnd remember, you are a guest here. Â Improve your behavior or youâll be removed. Â Permanently.â Â Nomura heads back toward the stairs.
âItâs addicting, isnât it?â Â Morgana speaks, stopping Nomura on the first step.
Nomura turns back, barely. Â âWhat?â
âHer kindness.â Â Morganaâs gaze meets Nomuraâs own. Â âDespite everything, despite the fact she knows it all, she remains kind.â Â She stands. Â âI know you, Nomura. Â You crave love and belonging, as all my changelings do. Â You canât hide how you feel. Â Not that youâve tried.â Â Morgana approaches Nomura. Â âDo you think I havenât seen the ways you look at Barbara? Â The ways you act around her?â Â Morgana stops directly in front of Nomura. Â âThe fact that you came down here to âdeal withâ me in a poor attempt to protect her. Â You wantââ
âSheâs my girlfriend. Â You may not understand what that means, but love does play a role,â Nomura cuts Morgana off. Â âI donât have an ulterior motive nor do I need one.â Â She wets her lips. Â âI trust Barbara and she trusts me. Â I donât expect you to understand that.â Â Nomura starts up the stairs again.
âWill you help me try?â Â The question leaves Morganaâs lips in a whisper. Â âYouâre right. Â I donât understand. Â That perturbs me. Â I am centuries old. Â My knowledge is greater than most mortals.â Â She stops. Â âYet, I do not understand. Â When I see the way you look at her, and the way she looks at you, I do not understand.â
âIs this a trick?â Â Nomura studies Morgana, but thereâs nothing in her expression or her body language that says as much.
âNo, IâŚâ Morgana clenches and unclenches her fists.  âI desire your help.  I called upon Barbara to aid me in petty matters because she looks on me with kindness when she does.  I assumed she does the same for you.  If that is not true, I wish to know why.â  She meets Nomuraâs gaze.  âWill you help me?â
