nautide (nautique x riptide) fans pplease talk to me i need more nautide fans i like to think that nautique makes riptide tag along on his like sciencey researchy stuff so he can take pictures of the cool stuff for nautique's scientific journal (yes i know riptide's camera doesnt actually take pictures, so i headcanon he has a regular camera that does!) riptide probably doesnt understand a single thing nautique is yapping about but he thinks its cute when hes nerdy and excited so he just nods along like "yep yep uh huh totally" but i do think they talk about their common interests, stuff like history(pirate history specifically) and the beauty of nature i hc riptide picks up new things really quickly but he doesnt know that so he ends up absorbing a bunch of nautique's nerdy stuff and the other mermicornos are shocked like "rip tide when did you get so.. nerdy??" and nautique is super happy/excited that someone is starting to get his science stuff ALSO SUNSPRITE AND SQUISHELLA DEFINITELY SET THE TWO UP TOGETHER THEYRE DEFINITELY THE TWO BOYS' WINGMERMIS
