Okay, so I downloaded the Star Wars: Timelines book to read for myself and interestingly, they reference the events of Free Fall in it — and at last, I get vindication that I was right about Poe joining them in 18 ABY and then leaving them in 19 ABY. Fuck you, tros visual dictionary!!! ← very delighted.

Anyway, back to the point. Like Mav pointed out, Shara having bloodburn definitely adds an element to Kes wanting to keep Poe grounded. As much as it seems a retcon to say she died of Bloodburn, on second glimpse I wonder if it's not.

Bloodburn is mostly impacted iirc by flying through hyperspace - I can easily see Shara continuing to fly in atmosphere + just outside it anyway, since it wouldn't be as much of a risk to her health. And I'm also sitting here wondering if, since we get little explanation on how she died in space (you'd think if it was a space battle, that would come up), it wasn't a complication from bloodburn that led her into crashing, seeing as one of the symptoms is dizzy spells.
