With Thanksgiving being in a few minutes, if you could, please try to remember the grand loss of life that actually took place and get rid of any notions the pilgrims were peaceful towards my people, or any POC. Not only that, but how this now continues to affect Native Americans, with most living beneath the poverty line, seeing violent, blatant, and micro aggressive racism, and without a great sense of community or freedom to practice our traditions without scrutiny. The pilgrims were murderers. The Native American loss is a great one. Entire tribes were decimated and enslaved all for the sake of "religious freedom" and "equality" ("The American Dream), but is there really either of those in a country founded on stealing the land from its inhabitants, mass genocide of the Indigenous People, the enslavement of both Africans and other POC to build this country, when violent racism still persists as it still is today?
