If balancing two bags of Indian groceries and a box of candy on one hand, while fishing keys out of their jacket pocket seemed like a dangerous game, youâd be right, and here was Miles, doing it anyway. The candy was the extra weight but heâd be dammed to not leave Avalon without a box of Lloydâs famous fudge, it was blasphemous. If he only had the foresight to leave the bags tucked into the Vespaâs storage, this entire ordeal couldâve been avoided, but the excitement of candy rendered their brain useless â more than ever. Â
Miles tried to shimmy the contents onto the seat, but the precarious dangle of the box made him not want to risk it all dropping. It was by stroke of luck that he saw someone walking towards their direction, so without any hesitation, Miles walked towards them and shoved the box of candy into their arms, turning back to the Vespa immediately when the stranger had a grip on it. âSoz my dude, I had my hands full there and were holding nothing, so figured it was my only chance,â he said, as he finally got to his keys and clipped the bags to his Vespa with a satisfied sigh. Disaster averted.
âThanks man, if I dropped any of that...phew,â he said, taking the candy back. It was also then that he got a properly look at the stranger, who it turns out, actually was not a stranger. âNath?â Miles beamed upon the realisation, âNATH!! Yo! What! This is great! I havenât seen you in like forever!â
