[ For both Nate and Eli~ ] 3, 7, 8, 10, 22, 23, 24.
3. Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often?
Nate generally doesnāt-- granted... He DOES run. But thatās the extent of it, really. Heās a GREAT runner-- really fast. Heād be like an.. Olympic-style runner, if he wanted to be. But he doesnāt, so he just sticks to going for runs with Elinor whenever she goes to the gym. Elinor and Nathaniel go for long runs every day if they can. Elinor-- now ELINOR... She LOVES to exercise. She goes to the gym every day if she can. It helps burn off some of that excess energy sheās got pent up [which is A LOT]. Sheās got a naturally fast metabolism, so she has to eat a lot-- that and sheās naturally a high-energy sort of person [something pretty much anyone can probably see upon meeting her (in good circumstances of course)]. Nate is totally a noodle. Way slim, way less strong than his sister. Meanwhile, Elinor over here wears long sleeve shirts and big baggy sweaters and whatnot a lot, so no one really ever sees the muscle sheās got on her [unless sheās wearing a dress]. Sheās a lot stronger than she looks--say.. Strong enough to lift a 200+lbs man. ye.
7.Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time
Nate loves to waste time tbh. Just-- relax. He reads books, mostly. And seeing as he works in a bookshop-- heās got lots of books on hand. He also likes to write on occasion; poetry and short stories. Reading the newspaper is one of his daily things he does to waste the early hours of the day before work. Elinor, on the other hand, hates to sit still for too long. When she DOES sit down to ārelaxā for a bit, she tends to watch TV, listen to the radio [radio shows/comedy/etc], or even draw. She loves to COLOUR too though tbh. Like.. Colouring book, sort of colouring. Nate thinks its ridiculous-- but she LOVES it. Loves the wax crayons, the smell of it-- the crappy colouring books. All of it. Sheās got stacks, tbh. Keeps them hidden from sight though.
8. Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging
Elinor sometimes indulges in food. Junk food, of course. Nathaniel hates it-- says itāll give her diseases and stuff if she isnāt careful āand besides, its not even real food, why would you want to eat something SO SALTY/SWEET? honestly -- its disgustingā.Ā Also, simply put-- sex. She does enjoy one night stands; meet someone at a club or at the cafe and meet up afterwards. She loves it; no strings attached sort of sex. She doesnāt do this A LOT, mind you. But she does [rarely] allow herself a little ātreatā every once in awhile...Ā Nathaniel, on the other hand, doesnāt really. He sees sex as like.. sacred, almost. Something to do with someone you LOVE. He sometimes indulges in a cigarette, as well as wine. Only occasionally for the cigarette though of course-- heād hate to get addicted to them. Heās unashamed in it-- itās something he treats himself to, normally, after a particularly hard day, as well as after he dies. It helps him calm down after wards.
10. Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such?
The two of them have recurrent depression. Elinor has a mild for of ADD, whereas Nathanial has a generalized anxiety disorder. They both have C-PTSD [āpsychological injury that results from protracted exposure to prolonged social and/or interpersonal trauma in the context of dependence, captivity or entrapment--ā] due to things that have happened in their past [experimentation, torture, entrapment, the Holocaust, etc]{but that would be considered one of the extreme ones, so idk if itād be lumped in with neuroses..} . They both equally donāt like doctors, generally. Or rather-- GOING to the doctors, anyway. Theyāre both VERY secretive/private people, so theyād never go to talk to someone about their life problems and whatnot. Makes them uncomfortable.
22. Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?
Nathaniel, naturally, would write a story, or poetry. He loves to write. Whereas Elinor-- sheād draw. Or rather-- DOODLE. Sheās by no means, an artist. But she does like to draw, anyway. Either that, or sheād fling the pencil across the room [or at nathaniel, like the five year old child she is]-- maybe fold the piece of paper up. Make an airplane, maybe a fortune teller thing. Sheād get bored easy.
23. How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life?
Nate is SUPER unorganized, despite what one might think. Thatās not to say heās not TIDY or CLEAN though-- heās a big neat-freak in terms of cleanliness [i.e; of his surroundings, hygiene, clothing, etc], but mentally, he tends to be pretty disorganized-- scatterbrained, even. Heās sort of forgetful, too. His mindās always racing about, so he has little time to think and remember things, keep stuff in the long term memory portion of his brain; stuff like that. Elinor on the other hand, is the POLAR opposite of Nate. Sheās messy-- she loves to make messes. Sheās always been kind of rough-n-tumble, getting dirty and muddy and whatnot. If you were to look in her room [if nathaniel hadnāt cleaned it up first], itād probably look like a teenager lived in there. Mentally though-- sheās got a fantastic memory. She probably remembers the street name and house number she saw a stranger a week ago, what they were wearing and doing, those sorts of things. Great with dates and numbers, equally great with names [not so much, last names though ??]. Sheās sort of obsessive with planning and stuff-- even though sheās a rather spontaneous, all-of-a-sudden sort of person; if you want to meet with her for coffee or something, you have to DISCUSS it-- make plans, all that.
24. Is there one subject of study that they excel at? Or do they even care about intellectual pursuits at all?
Nate is great at languages-- mostly, anyway. Heās also superb with science. He LOVES science. Elinor, though sheās a bit all over the place-- she loves math and especially history. Sheād read text books if they were on history, honestly. Thatās a thing sheād do, too, if she found herself with time to kill. Sheād go through historic things in her head, if she doesnāt have a book to read on it. She might even WRITE about it, if she gets bored enough. Write what sheās learned on it, write what she KNOWS [likely from experience; word of mouth from the year the event happened itself]. Stuff like that. Sheās flight and energetic, and she canāt sit still-- but put her in front of a chalk board with math problems on it and sheāll go right on up and solve it, no matter how long it might take. She LOVES hard math stuff. LOVES IT.
