That’s beside the point. Right now, she needs to get that bleeding to stop. “You got a first aid kit around here anywhere?” Because he doubts convincing her to go to the hospital is an option. It wouldn’t be if it were him.

“I wouldn’t be so sure of that.” He’d lost Sam once already because of Rafe and that bastard had been Sam’s downfall again. This time, there’s no way Sam survived, and the grief is eating Nate up inside - enough to drive him to point a gun in Rafe’s face with the intent to murder. “Sam’s dead and it’s your fault.”

“I’m sure. It’s just a little scratch.” A little scratch is an understatement but he’s always been one to downplay his wounds. It’s a head wound, so he probably should get it checked out, and the gash on his forehead probably needs stitches but eh - he doesn’t want to go to the hospital - he’ll be fine, he thinks. “You worry about me too much. Always have.”

They’ve each got a gun pointed at each other and Nathan is close to pulling the trigger - it’s what the son of a bitch deserves. Besides, he’s pretty sure if he doesn’t pull the trigger, Rafe will. Scoffing at his words, Nathan’s grip on his gun tightens. “You’re not capable of being civlisied.” 

He slides down onto the ground, back against a boulder, his hands still pressed firmly against the wound in his abdomen. IT HURTS LIKE HELL. “A-Angel. Go. Go while you still can.” Because that’s certainly not the last of gun-wielding MANIACS.

That doesn’t sound good. Whatever Elena had heard, he knows better than to push it aside as if it was NOTHING. Hand moves slowly towards his gun - JUST IN CASE - though he does not draw it just yet. For all he knows it could be someone completely innocent and NOT trying to kill them. “What do you think it was?” He whispers the words, to ensure he remains quiet enough that whoever is out there - they can’t hear him. “I swear - if it’s another zombie.”

“Elena - I’m fine.” If she is hinting that he is GETTING SICK?  No way - there’s no way he’s getting sick. He hasn’t even been sick since he was a child if he remembers correctly. And what a blast Sully had with that. A stubborn sick kid Nate? Not exactly a great time. That’s not the point right now, though, the point is - he REFUSES to be sick. “I’m fine, I promise.”

That stuns Nate into TOTAL SILENCE. There’s something very wrong with the way he says that, something that makes Nathan....sad for him. Why is he having sex with women when it makes him feel like THAT? “....Angel....if you don’t like women - you don’t have to sleep with them.” Even so, it shouldn’t make him dissociate unless he feels like HE HAS TO. “You realize you can sleep with anyone you want - right? Doesn’t have to be women. In fact, if you don’t like it when you’re with women - you don’t have to sleep with them. That’s....not healthy.”
