"Hey... Lainey called me. She's having a pretty rough time with, uh," he glanced down at her belly. "...all of this."
"Yeah, she can join the club," Nat grumbled. "Sorry. I don't mean that."
"It's okay if you do... you're allowed to be scared, or upset... or both," Ransom shrugged. "So... Who's the baby daddy?"
"I almost liked you for a second," Nat said, but there was no bite to her words. She actually smiled. "Ford... Tennyson. You're roommates with his ex-wife."
"That's complicated," Ransom chuckled.
"Yeah," Nat nodded. "And I was sort of dating this other guy before... He was really nice, and we had so much chemistry... but I just had to go and mess it all up by woohooing someone else..."
"And you broke up with me because I'm poly," Ransom laughed. "You're such a mess. I love it."
"I broke up with you because you're an immature, reckless, stubborn pain in the plumbob!" Natasha argued. "And... I didn't want to share you... so... I guess... you're right."
"Say that again?" Ransom grinned. "I'm right?"
