Hers was a name that Wyatt had known well since being elected Speaker; after all, it was the subject of many a complaint within the House, and the recipient of numerous cease and desists. Asinine as her work often was -- somewhere between a trump card and an Achilles’ heel in a world so voraciously hungering for truth -- Zimmerman attempted to float above it, at all costs, even if the endless stream of nonsensical accusations occasionally rubbed him the wrong way... the blame for countless, increasingly more outlandish, crimes resting upon his shoulders as a result of her quick wit and the Witness’ eagerness to provoke shock.

“I don’t know what to tell you,” Toby shrugs in faux-innocence before he takes a puff of his cigarette, “She was a beautiful girl, but fuck -- every time I opened my mouth, she looked like she was going to stab me with her fork,” The poor girl wouldn’t be the first (or, likely, the last) woman to have that reaction when Toby Franklin spoke, though he will never be self aware enough to understand the reason why.

“So much for setting me up,” Here comes another drag of the cigarette, as Toby fumbles to pull his phone out of his front pocket. He’ll scroll through the updates of his Twitter feed mindlessly while this smoke lasts him. Never mind the fact it’s terrible manners in a conversation; he’s completely forgotten anything he’s ever been taught on that subject. Or at least, disregarded it.
