Pairing: Vampire Nat x gn reader

When Nat was turned, literally no one noticed since she was already so pale and didn't eat much at school

the only reason you found out is because you were out late one night and saw her drinking from a dead deer

She was pretty unfazed by you finding out, since you were chill about the whole thing. She was expecting hysterics, but you barely reacted

after you found out, she started hanging out with you more often because she didn't have to hide that she was a vampire

You were very intrigued by the whole thing, and you ended up asking her all sorts of questions

"Wait can you turn into a bat?" "Don't think so." "Ugh. Boring."

After a while of you hanging out, she ends up making a move and just kissing you after you say something stupid or ask another dumb vampire question

your dynamic doesn't change much once you start officially dating, the only difference is now whenever she wants you to stop talking she kisses you instead of telling you to shut up. you like this option a lot better

Even though you saw her drink that one time, she doesn't like you to be around if she has to eat

A few months into your relationship, she eventually relents and lets you be there

She still doesn't like you seeing her eat, but it bothers her less as time goes on

Once, when she was really hungry and didn't have access to any other blood, you offered to let her bite you

at first she was very opposed, but she started getting so hungry that she couldn't avoid it anymore

I think the first time she drinks from you it's definitely from the wrist instead of the neck

She starts drinking and after a few minutes, you start getting pale and pass out on her

after that she says she's never going to drink from you again (she mostly stays true to this, and if she does have to drink your blood again she makes sure you're fed and hydrated before she does)

She makes you watch scary movies and loves to hear your blood rush when you get scared

like you're sitting next to her on the couch freaking out over this horror movie villain and she's just there listening to your heartbeat

For Halloween she makes you dress as a vampire and she goes as a werewolf because she thinks the irony is hilarious, even though you're the only other person who understands why it's funny

since she can't really be outside for extended periods of time during the day, most of your dates happen at night

she also takes you to a lot of movies since there aren't big windows and the risk of her burning is a lot lower

Since she doesn't have to eat normal food, she often forgets that you need to eat at certain times, and she feels really bad if the two of you are at her place since she doesn't really keep food around

she starts stocking up on snacks specifically for you in case you get hungry and didn't bring anything for yourself

She also rarely takes you out on dinner dates since she doesn't really eat

If you want a dinner date you have to plan it or drop hints at her for like a week straight

I think she would fuck with a night picnic though, she's drinking animal blood out of cute little glasses and you have like... cherry juice so you feel included

since she wouldn't need to sleep, sometimes she shows up to your house at like 3 a.m. and you wake up with her in your bed

the first time it happened you freaked out a but, but eventually it started happening so often that you don't even bat an eye anymore

THIS IS SO SAD she would increasingly become more and more desperate as it turned to winter and then as winger kept coming that’s when she would start to believe lottie’s stuff but in the back of her mind she knew that it was illogical for you to be alive and everytime lottie was like “she’s alive” nat wanted to believe her SO bad but she just couldn’t she just couldn’t keep getting her hopes up only to come back empty handed each day then she eventually just accepts it and stops looking for you

and when you finally come back??? OH MY GODDDDD SHES SO GUILTY!!!!! no matter if you are or aren’t talking she just keeps imagining you freezing in the cold without her and she’s SICK

she’s just constantly holding you and fussing over you and asking if you’re warm even if she doesn’t know if she’ll get an answer

she will literally have a death grip on you the entire night and probably has to sleep with her head on your chest or just some way she can hear your heartbeat and remind herself that you’re here and not dead

and if by some miracle you manage to roll away from her whether on purpose or accidentally she’ll just randomly wake up and like freak out until she rolls over and finds you again

and the way she says pretty girl....... with that ACCENT BRUH

omg imagine pre-dating and there’s a game of 7 minutes in heaven and you spin the bottle and it lands on her and she can see you’re all nervous and stuff, so after jackie shoves you into a wardrobe or something she says you don’t have to do this but of course you say it’s fine and you will, (cus she’s so damn hot) she’d defo be gentle with you anyway and ease you into it. it’s like canon for me that she cups cheeks as she kisses, im pretty sure she does that when kissing travis in season 1?

even imagine going to these stupid high school parties whilst dating and just sitting to the side of a room with her and making fun of jeff and randy being idiotic and eventually being dragged to the dance floor to dance with the rest of the team, or just blowing everyone off for drunken walks round the neighbourhood, eventually crashing in your room

omg yes send more whenever, id love to write a full fic on the concept

showing up to the stupid party because Jackie said it was mandatory (everyone knows that it's not really, but today isn't a day you want to piss Jackie off.). You're there for about ten minutes before you're plotting ways to leave without anyone (Jackie) noticing. Before you can do anything, though, one of the Yellowjackets, probably Jackie or Shauna, but maybe Van, comes and finds you. Whoever it is drags you to a circle of the other Yellowjackets, and you immediately know what's happening.

But Nat's there, and part of you hopes that she'll spin the bottle and it'll land on you. So you sit your ass down, ready to humor your teammates. Worst-case scenario, you have to sit with somebody in a closet for seven minutes. Best-case scenario? You and Nat kissing.

When Nat spins the bottle, it lands on Van, which is both a disappointment and a relief. You're obviously sad it didn't land on you, but you know that those two aren't going to end up kissing.

An excruciating half an hour later, it's finally your turn. Your hands are shaking as you spin, and you're begging the universe for the bottle to land on Nat. By some sort of miracle, it does. But now you're freaking out, because what if she doesn't want to kiss you? Or It's a bad kiss?

Before you have a real chance to react, Jackie's shoving you in Lottie's giant pantry, and you're stuck. Nat can clearly tell you're nervous, so she's joking, trying to get you to relax, making sure you know there's no pressure, you don't have to do anything if you're not feeling it. She won't be offended.

Once she's pretty sure you're calm enough to handle it, she takes your face in her hands and looks at you for a second, giving you time to tell her to stop. When you don't she kisses you. You're expecting roughness, but she's surprisingly soft. Probably not wanting to freak you out any more.

You don't really talk about it for a couple weeks until you like actually end up dating.

BUT YES at parties just drinking with her, literally judging everyone around you because you're drunk and it's fun. Sharing drinks, shotgunning sharing a a cigarette or a blunt. #needthat.

Sometimes, if you're feeling energetic, you'll make her dance to the pop music that she claims to hate. If you're tired or overwhelmed or have just bored, you leave and wander (or drive, if one of you is sober) around the neighborhood.

Imagining being Nat's best friend and having feelings for her but resigning yourself to never having her because she's not into girls.

Jump to the crash, and Travis starts being just a complete dick to everyone, but especially you. Of course, Nat's defending you, telling Travis to fuck off.

Eventually he stops being as much of an ass, but you still don't like him because of his previous behavior. You do everything you can to stay away from him. Everyone knows about your dislike of Travis, especially Nat. No one blames you, and most some of the girls agree with you. You assume Nat does, too.

Until you find out that she's hooking up with him. You feel betrayed on so many levels. One, your best friend didn't tell you she was sort of dating him. Two, the girl you have a giant crush on is dating someone. Three, your best friend is fucking around with a guy who was a complete ass to you.

You pretend to be happy for her, but you start getting distant. Not talking to her as much, sleeping next to someone else at night. Not sitting with her at dinner.

Obviously, Nat notices this and brings it up, asking if you're jealous or something. The thing is, you are, but it's not of her. So you say no, that everything's fine. She pushes further, and you end up pissed, angry that she doesn't get why you're mad.

Once you tell her that it's (partly) because Travis was/is an asshole, it's her turn to be pissed. She's defending him, saying how nice he is to her. You fight about it, saying yeah, he may be nice to her now but he was an ass to everyone. And he still is kind of a dick to everyone else.

Fast forward to post-expedition, and Nat comes to you, apologizing for not listening and explaining what happened between her and Travis. It takes a few days, but you forgive her.

The two of you end up going to doomcoming together, completely platonically of course. You run off together (like she and Ben do in the show) and end up just catching up. When the shrooms hit, you're both giggling and for once, everything feels right again. (Imagining the other girls don't go feral on shrooms this time) Nat does cry over Travis a little, but it's a lot of anger and less real sadness over it.

You try to comfort her. telling her he never deserved her and that he's an ass. Then, Nat almost kisses you, but you stop her, telling her you don't want her to kiss you because she's high and missing Travis.

She looks hurt, but she understands. You tell her if she still wants to kiss you in the morning, you'll consider it. Trying to joke away the awkwardness. She laughs, and you move on. Eventually, you crash, falling asleep on the dirt of the forest.

I feel like Shauna would defo get Jackie into Chappell Roan (even though I don’t think Shauna would listen to her that much), but just as a way of trying to hint at something….. and Jackie is so oblivious

Also Nat and mazzy star? It’s canon in my mind, especially as they are a 90s band

I'm a huge music nerd so let's get into this.

Lottie is suchhhh a Renee Rapp fan in my mind. Cunty lesbian vibes through the roof!! She's also into Mitski. Two very different vibes but both very Lottie tbh...

I like the idea of Shauna telling Jackie to listen to Chappell but I also think that Jackie would tell Shauna to listen to MUNA and Shauna listens to Silk Chiffon while thinking about Jackie.

Tai's a Lucy Dacus fan, both because Jasmin is and I think Lucy is a very Taissa artist to like. She'd also dabble in the rest of the members of Boygenius and def listen to the band as a whole but she's a lucy lover through and through.

Jackie is a Taylor Swift fan, (don't hate me for this), just because I definitely see her as a pop lover. Probs also Sabrina Carpenter but not as much.

Shauna also listens to Boygenius but I think Phoebe is her number one instead of Lucy. I also think she'd be into the Last Dinner Party because of the imagery, and also probs Ethel Cain.

Van: Billie Eilish, but also Hozier? Like Lottie, very contradictory but she contains multitudes. I kind of feel like Van would be less into artists and more just general vibes of songs.
