"I have been amazing!! I know I just ran into you, but I have somewhere I need to be! That is unless you wish to join me?" Lee looked at Gaara with wide, hopeful eyes. Then suddenly Lee backpedaled. "Though I do not wish to trouble you–you must be very busy. Please, forget I asked."
"No, it's no trouble at all," Gaara reassured him. "Where are you going?"
"I am going to see Gai sensei! We have a tradition this time of year. We infuse sake with the apples Metal and his friends pick from the orchard at the Festival!" Lee's enthusiasm was infectious.
Gaara stared at Lee incredulously. "Is that…a good idea?" He remembered the fight against Kimimaro very vividly. Lee had barely an ounce to drink and he was instantly an unpredictable master of drunken style taijutsu.
"I do not drink any, if that is your concern," Lee said levelly. "But Gai-sensei loves to drink some and give the rest to Kakashi-sensei and some of his other friends as gifts. Sakura-chan of course loves some too. It is a time-honored pastime during the Fall Festival!"
