shifty was starting to understand when people said he was TOO NICE. this was his fourth blind date in such a short amount of time. it was perfectly acceptably, really nothing to write home about ( literally ). she was SWEET and had a great smile, but there was absolutely NOTHING THERE. it was like going to eat with a friend that seemed too distracted by their phone. it felt like another waste of time.Â
the girl’s phone rang and shifty knew what this was. THE ESCAPE CALL. if the date was too boring or if he turned out to be strange, her friend was calling her to save her. a part of shifty really wanted her to take it. he was trying, honest he was, but he was just tired of the same thing over and over again. relief washed over him when she took it, made an excuse to leave and shifty told her was more than happy to pick up the check.Â
once the girl was gone, shifty put his head down on the table. a deep breath out, a SMALL GROAN mixed into it, before he mumbled to himself. ‘what in the heck is wrong with me?’Â
