"You should take a Genin team" Yamato said slightly slurring the words. He then took another sip of his Sake.

"You are 24!" he added as if he had just realized how old Shikamaru was and leant close staring at him.

"Oi...who is going to assist me then?" Kakashi chimed in with a frown.

"Assist yourself Senpei!" Yamato said turning to him. 

"Maa...that sounds kind of dirty" Kakashi said.

"What are you doing with your assistant Kakashi?" Gai said, squinting his eyes looking from Shikamaru to Kakashi and back.

"Mostly paperwork" Kakashi said.

"Kakashi was 24 when he took on his first Genin team" Gai added helpfully, nodding his head. 

"I would not exactly say I took on my first Genin team. I was kind of thrown out of ANBU due to mental issues and then it was apparently natural to make me responsible for 12 year olds." He still sort of questioned Sandaime's decision making process at times. 

"He was such a good Captain you know" Yamato said a little whiny, looking rather gravely all of a sudden.

"Maa Tenzō I'm not dead ne?"

"Senpeiiiii it's YAMATO ... ."

"Yes yes" Kakashi said.

"How much did he have?" he asked, looking at Shikamaru. The loud thud of Tenzō's forehead hitting the table made him turn his attention back to his Kohei. 

"Straws?" Gai asked. They usually drew straws to decide who brought Tenzō home after a night out drinking. He really did not stomach alcohol well. 

"I'm good" Tenzō said, his voice muffled because of the table. Then he sat up again. 

"Aaaaanyway you really should...it's very rewarding" Tenzō continued.

"Where is your Genin team again Tenzō?" Kakashi asked.

"My 'Genin' team consist of one Sannin...it's not rewarding" Tenzō said making a face. Right now he had a little break since Orochimaru  had decided to stay in the village for a moment. ANBU had taken over for the night so Tenzō got a little break. 

Just the slight movement in the air announced the appearance of an ANBU right next to Kakashi. Crow bent down and whispered something in Kakashi's ear. 

Kakashi nodded. It was time to leave.

"Orochimaru?" Tenzō asked, sounding a lot more sober all of a sudden.

Shikaku cursed under his breath as he started to wake up. Everything hurt. He opened his eyes slowly and found himself in a hospital room. He was connected to a heart monitor, had an oxygen mask on his face and IVs in his arm.

What the hell?

Looking around groggily, Shikaku tried to remember what had happened. He had gone to work… did his chest hurt or something? The memories were fuzzy now. He grimaced in pain as he reached over to the table to retrieve his phone.
