Annapolis Running Classic Half Marathon
The Annapolis Running Classic Half Marathon was another opportunity to keep in shape considering I just signed up for my fifth marathon this year. The course started and ended at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. The course takes you downtown and then out across the Academy bridge. The course was hilly to say the least. And it was just a tad chilly. Ok, actually it was great running weather. The oncourse support was great! Though, I must have missed the gel stop at mile 7 because I didn’t get one until near mile 11. I was hurting by then, I didn’t bring any with me. The after party was stellar! There was plenty of recovery food in addition to the raw and grilled oysters in the finish tent. The band was one of the better ones that I stayed for. There were a lot of RWB Eagles in the field and it was encouraging to see them along all the switchbacks on the course. Overall, I did well despite the hills and recovering from the latest races.
Great job Annapolis!!
