Welcome to my Crazy Zone. I'll go into a bit more depth on my AU Naoto and talk about P6!Naoto x Aigis just in case anyone is interested in that. I'll try to keep it brief:

P6!Naoto Summary

P6!Naoto stems off of my Detective Princes narrative, wherein Naoto goes to Tokyo during P5 to investigate the Phantom Thieves and ends up getting tangled up with Akechi in the process. Akechi catches his fascination, and he begins wondering what exactly the general public sees in Akechi to grant him Naoto's title of Detective Prince.

It really doesn't work out for Naoto though. Akechi is Naoto's only real link to the case, and you can imagine he isn't exactly open & honest with information. Naoto has his suspicions and I can definitely see him finding the Phantom Thieves on his own and beginning to dabble in the metaverse, but too late. He ultimately doesn't act in time, and P5 plays out exactly like it does in canon. Naoto feels like he never truly understood Akechi and sees this as a personal failing as a detective.

Do keep in mind that Naoto, being a prodigy detective from a young age, is a bit privileged and stakes a lot of his personal worth on his work. This on top of the grief of having invested emotionally in Akechi makes this a very deep cut for him that he has absolutely no clue how to cope with.

The premise of this AU is the idea of Naoto taking into account the facts of: - He has experience with both the TV World and the Metaverse. How many other people know this much about Shadow worlds? Likely very, very little. - In these Shadow worlds, he saw the world get scarily close to ending. Twice. The situation is alarmingly precarious. - If Akechi, his successor, turned out like he did, what does that mean for Naoto?

"Persona 6" here simply refers to Naoto's new case, investigating the cause of the Shadow worlds and his attempts at finding a definitive way to stop them. Partially for the sake of the world itself, mostly to help him feel better about himself for fucking up the Phantom Thieves case so bad. And out of grief for Akechi.

P6!Naoto x Aigis

To properly investigate the Shadow Worlds, Naoto must account for any he didn't have experience with. He learns of the Kirijo Group and gets in touch, meeting Aigis in the process.

She is literally everything he could ever hope for.

Aigis has deep experience with a Shadow world Naoto doesn't know about. She's a wild card. She was literally built to fight Shadows. Aigis is a deep well of knowledge that Naoto absolutely wants to take advantage of.

On Aigis' side, I think she still struggles with finding a purpose after P3. To my understanding she resolves to live for her friends in P3, which is very noble but not exactly the healthiest way of thinking. Maybe unluckily for her, Naoto makes her feel very VERY useful. On top of drawing comparisons to P3MC, this compels her to stick around.

Good thing they definitely do not catch feelings, that would distract Naoto from his big new case :)
