I'm kidding. I know barely anyone will see this, but who's back from her long, unplanned hiatus (uh, it is I)?
For those of you who don't know me and those who might've forgotten who I am, Hello! This is Nani, your go-to SVT Angst connoisseur! Occasionally, I make some nice, cute, fluffy one-shots, but most of my fics will have you questioning your life existence and staring at the ceiling with a pain in your chest (as I said, Angst Connoisseur).
So, I should start by explaining my absence. I'm adulting (severely). I got a job! It's been very rewarding and draining at the same time, but this job takes up most of my time, so I haven't had the time to sit down and write for the last two and a half years. I also had no time to be active because I had to care for my ailing grandmother after work. This leads me to this last year: my grandmother sadly passed in August, and I was - and still am- devastated. The last few months have been a reverie of me trying to assimilate and deal with my grief while being neck-deep in my work.
I love writing, and I will always love SVT! However, I haven't had the chance to write due to my hectic life. I know I have a lot of unfinished projects, and I want to finish them, but I just don't know how to finish them and give you guys fics worthy of your time. I might be more active on my blog, and I'll try to write something up. I just hope you enjoy it and that it's up to your expectations.
With that being said, I do have a fic that I am proud of that I recently worked on. I will share it with you all. I hope you enjoy it!

I love the Word of Honor production team for making a truly BL show in China under censorship. They have mastered the art of showing not so subtext queer content with a dedication that truly can be achieved with queer people in the room.
I want to express my gratitude to the cast for protecting the integrity of that work with so much passion and so much humor and chaos-in many ways their only way of doing so. I think about how the three that Went The Hardest during the concert were (to my surprise) the older men in the cast. Thinking about Hei Zi laoshi standing up with the straightest back known to man and belting out a song dedicated to queer love makes me go feral.
I think about how statistically there must be queer members on the cast and how all of them must have countless queer friends in the industry living a painful life in hiding. And I just want to cry buckets of tears thinking about the sheer defiance of this cast: Uncle Trio fighting homophobia with three whiteboards and a marker, Wang Ruolin within the span of one answer shipping Zhaoxie and Wenzhou. Or Chen Zihan completely unnecessarily turning the whole concert into a wedding and the rest of the cast just jumped on this wagon as though they have a group chat dedicated to doing so. Or Zhou Ye and Ma Wenyuan bowing to Wenzhou as the parents or Zhao Qian and Ke Naiyu just doing Whatever This Is...the list at this point is endless
Word of Honor is first and foremost a love story between two men. Their redemption which is the outward focal point of the story, depends heavily on this love. If you're not acknowledging them as lovers then you miss entire parts of what this show is about. Which means you can't get WoH if you don't acknowledge queer people.
I'm not sure if the gravity of how inherently queer WoH is or the importance of queer resilience that the cast show as a collective could be understood by someone who hasn't been in the closet with no discernible way out. But as a person who once had vowed to just live the entirety of their life with a wholeass part of them dead - I thank WoH from the bottom of my heart for being that light for the people who are in that phase of their lives right now.
