In the Seventies, Heart had some great songs, including my favorite of theirs, the ferocious “City’s Burning,” which somehow wasn’t a hit (probably just too heavy for radio). In the Eighties, they pulled a hard right towards pop metal with records like this—a UK picture disc 7-inch for “Never.” Far more lightweight, it’s a decent song as far as pop metal goes, and Nancy Wilson’s knowing campy preening throughout the video holds up to this day.
