"Aye, Cú! When are you gonna show me how to use spear. I need to get good with as many weapon types as possible, and Dan Heng's reach with his is still difficult for me to get past. Way I figure, learning how to use one'll give me the perspective I need to get around one."
He had been training on his own when the trailblazer called for him. Crimson spear rested on his shoulder as the other approached, the sides of his mouth lifting into a wide grin the more he heard them talk. Marquez was asking him to teach them. In other words, they wanted him to be their mentor. Actually, at no moment did the trailblazer said that at all, but that's what the galaxy ranger understood. To think he would once acquire a student of his own... it would be a lie if he were to say that he didn't find the entire situation rather exciting.
"That depends. If you're going to learn from me, first, you have to understand that I won't go easy on you just because you're my friend." But, at least, he wasn't going to be as unhinged as his teacher. The entire time he spent in that reality marble, he was certain that all their training matches and the strikes of her spear were meant to kill him. He never understood if she trained him to death because she refused to go easy on who would eventually become her successor, or if she had simply forgotten how humans were supposed to work. "Second, there's no quick route to reach a mastery level. Doesn't matter how much of a natural you are."
With that said, he turned to search for two long, metallic bars. One was for himself, the other he threw it in the trailblazer's direction, expecting them to catch it in midair. "Finally, you need to show me how you handle a spear, and you better not try to hold back. Come at me with the intention of killing me because, if you don't, I will." He still was smiling, and his tone was his usual cheerful one, but it was evident that he wasn't joking this time.
