Adee felt like she couldn’t breathe the longer that she stayed inside, but she went outside of her home and still felt incredibly suffocated. She needed to get out of this town, and there was a small sigh of relief when she finally saw Dae pull up. “I can-- I can pay for gas, I just... I can’t be here right now,” Adee confessed, her hands clasped tightly on her lap as soon as she was seated. Her breathing was still shaky, her head was just a mess and her heart was aching in her chest. “I...” Adee started to say but her voice was shaking so much, she needed to pause to clear her throat. “I can’t lose someone else. I can’t do it anymore, Dae. This is all too much,” she whispered. “He... he wasn’t mine but I--” Adee swallowed thickly. “How’d you do it? Carry on when you lost your wife? Ex wife, I mean. I’m sorry.”

It was a lucky guess to find her husband here, and without waiting for an invitation, Selin sat down on the chair opposite him. “I’ll cut right to the chase,” she said, wishing she had ordered first because she had nothing to busy her hands with. “The woman you married? She doesn’t exist anymore, Dae,” Selin said, trying her best to sound gentle, even though there was a steeliness in her voice, possibly from impatience. “I don’t know who you think I am, but I sure as hell am not the same woman you married over a year ago. Whoever that was is dead and gone and even you have to admit there is absolutely nothin’ left between us, so tell me why won’t you just give me what I want and sign the damn papers?” 

Adee: hi dae!

Adee: Hi, Dae!

Adee: Can I ask if you know what the visiting hours are visitors who are not family? I forgot :(

First it was Sam, her ex-boyfriend, and now, she was faced with none other but her husband. What is is with this snowstorm and it digging up the people from her past she had done her very best to avoid? “What are you doin’ here?” Selin demanded to know, her voice steely as she walked up to him. “Are you here to give me the signed divorce papers or what?” She asked, trying her best not to show how shocked she was to find that he was actually here. In front of her. Thankfully, the ring she had taken off her finger and had placed on a silver chain around her neck was tucked underneath her many layers of clothes so he wouldn’t be able to see.
