This photo was taken at Rhodes university during the #NakedProtest following the #RUreferenceList. What you see are students making a stand against rape culture and the social and institutional structures that perpetuate it. These students were met with resistance from management and police brutality while they argued for more effective sexual assault policies. They stood strong. In my view women, especially black women, are the most unappreciated people in our society, but make an invaluable contribution. They show strength, power, grace, resilience and intelligence.
