Surrounded || Candice and Cam
Candice sighed, throwing another handful of Jobberknoll feathers into her pitiful potion. She wasn't able to properly brew one in class so Professor Toshburg told her she'd have to figure it out in her own time. "Inconsiderate jerk," she seethed. It was because of her that the Slytherin was down there, toiling deep down in the dungeons. The only soul around. Candice rolled her eyes, grudgingly stirring the effervescent mixture as it bubbled vociferously; gurgling and spitting in an sickening manner. The brunette cringed as pocket of the inky fluid burst, flying up and hitting her in the face. "That's fucking disgusting," she muttered, wiping it away. The snake heard an inconspicuous hissing sound, and immediately assumed it was coming from her cauldron. "Shut up you," she muttered, poking the despicable mixture with her wand.
Candice heard another sinister hiss, but this time the noise was spine-chilling. The Slytherin whipped herself around, trying to pinpoint the origin of the sound. No one was there. "You're probably hearing things," she thought, directing her focus back onto her potion. Still, the eerie feeling persisted, and the fifteen year old felt an unequivocal feeling of dread begin to well up inside of her. Candice crossed her arms, shivering slightly. "It sure is cold down here," she thought. The Slytherin heard another hiss, her entire body freezing with trepidation. It wasn't her imagination, the sound was real. Still, apart from her, the cauldron, and a couple desks, the chilly room was entirely vacant. She scanned the vicinity once more, but her scrutinizing eyes didn't catch sight of anything sinister. All of a sudden, a soft scratching sound became audible, the sound of sharp claws slowly dragging themselves across a wooden door. Candice jumped, chills running down her little spine. "Very funny," she exclaimed, her voice wavering slightly. She was probably the victim of someone's cruel little joke, nothing to worry about. The scratching persisted. "Okay, you scared me," she admitted, laughing a hesitant little laugh.
The scratching grew louder and the snake backed up, slowly creating distance between her and the door. A sinking feeling washed over the girl and Candice gulped, instinctually reaching for her wand. She heard a cracking sound and the door separating her from the terror on the other side began to fracture, finally giving out with a loud thud. A horrifying, serpent-like creature crawled over the broken door, it's clawed feet shattering it to pieces. Candice froze, unable to react. The reptilian creature crawled towards her, jaws opening wide to reveal countless rows sharp teeth; all hissing that harrowing sound. The Slytherin looked around, panic washing over her as she realized she was trapped, the gruesome serpent-human hybrid blocking her only escape. Her heart thundered in her chest, beating against her ribcage so hard that it hurt. Candice did the only thing she knew how to do, she screamed. An ear splitting yowl that screeched through the hallways, so loud it almost rattled the desks. But nobody seemed to have heard it. The Slytherin whipped out her wand, pointing it towards the reptilian creature. She'd have to fight it alone. "Incendio! Stupefy! Impedimenta!" All of her spells seemed to bounce right off of the snake-human hybrid, not even phasing it. "Petrificus totalus!" Terror shot through her as the reptilian advanced, but the brunette was backed up against a corner. "This is the end," she thought, closing her eyes. She had never thought she'd go out like this.
