Review: Highline Bar + Lounge in River North
One day over lunch, Nachocagoer Will ventured to Four Corners’ newest joint: Highline. He’s SO trendy. Four Corners usually delivers (see: Benchmark) so how did Highline’s lobster nachos stack up? Check it:
1. Chips - 10/10
They use a special wonton chip that's really light and crispy. Amazeballs.Â
2. Cheese - 7/10
Didn't notice anything too special. Not overly cheesy.
3. Toppings - 9/10
Great, fresh toppings. Red chili peppers were crisp and bright and there was a generous serving of lobster. Â
4. Durability - 4/10
Unfortunately the wonton chips don't hold up well to the hearty toppings and shellfish. A number broke.
5. Presentation - 7/10
Bright reds and greens looked great against the lighter color of the chips. A little too much lettuce mounded on and the avocado pieces didn't sit on the chips very well.
6. Overall taste - 8/10
Great lobster flavor with real shellfish, Â At least two full claws' worth, bright colors and a delicious chip game.
TOTAL SCORE: 4.5/6 on our unique six chip rating system
In six words: I would eat just the chips

Review: Rocks Lakeview
Any restaurant who wants to be crowned the Official Chicago Nacho Headquarters is going to have to make it past Rocks Lakeview first.Â
That's right. Until - or, if ever - it's dethroned, Rocks Lakeview sits atop our list as the best nachos we've reviewed. See below for the scores based on our unique 6-chip rating system.
Let’s dig in. ROCKS WHITE TRASH NACHOS:
1) Chips - 10. FRITOS. FRITOS. FRITOS. FRITOS. (They are labeled "jumbo corn scoops" on the menu.) GENIUS. We didn't even miss the chips aspect because these extra large fritos were so delicious, durable, and made for the ultimate scooping mechanism to pick up loose toppings.Â
2) Cheese - 9. As a queso fanatic, I must say that this is some of the best liquid cheese I've had. Piping hot and just classy enough to reassure you that it didn't come out of a pump or squeeze bottle (if it did, don't tell us), but not trying to show off, either. The only reason it doesn't score a perfect 10 is because I need to mix up the ratings a little.Â
3) Toppings - 10. Really just the perfect blend of the essentials + some unique add ons. You get the regular jalapenos and sour cream, but then Rocks throws a curve ball by including its Black & Blue chili and scallions. SCALLIONS. I've never been in a situation with scallions where it ended poorly. Unfortunately, I did not get meat since I was in the presence of a vegetarian and didn't want to offend her.Â
4) Durability - 10. These jumbo corn scoops aka Fritos from heaven are by far THE BEST chip option you could want for nachos. The scoop lets you pick up extra toppings and the thickness prevents ANY from breaking in half or becoming the dreaded #limpchip. #NoLimpChips (We'll be at the Pride Parade promoting that hashtag, so look for us then!)Â
5) Presentation - 10. Just look at that pile and tell me you didn't smile. You can't.Â
6) Overall taste - 10. LITERALLY A 10.Â
BONUS:Â They don't need bonus points. They've proved themselves already.Â
TOTAL SCORE: 5.9/6Â on our unique 6-chip rating system. (Fun Fact: It took Alex and me 5 minutes to figure out how to do the math for this score.)Â
There you have it - the best nachos in Chicago. We dare any other restaurant to try and impress us to revoke Rocks of that honor.Â
In six words:Â these nachos be hard to top

HATE JALAPENOS ON THE NACHOS, THEY'RE TOO SPICY/HOP OUT THE OLD SCHOOL WITH THE NEW NIKES
Artist: Sir Michael Rocks Song: “Summer Song”
While I vehemently disagree with this statement, I respect his opinion. It's important to know exactly what you want on your nachos. If we weren't strong in our convictions, we could never be nacho bloggers.Â
So Prince William made a pit stop at O'Hare last week where he ordered some chicken wings from R.J. Grunts and pulled chicken nachos from Hub51.Â
I mean, Prince William, I respect the idea, I really do, but your execution is all off! Everyone knows you go Braised Short Rib Nachos at Hub51! Pulled chicken? Just a rookie move. I might not be the heir to the British throne (you're welcome?) but I do know how to order. Come back to Chicago and we'll take you on a real nacho tour.Â
