(Faye) Alm, do you miss your home village?
“… I’d be lying if I said no.” Alm says after a moment’s pause to think on the question, his gaze rising from the ground to Faye— did he look down without realizing?
“Ram’s home, it will always be home to me… no matter what.” Titles, accomplishments, feats and even… his true family; in the face of what he lived and experienced in Ram, none of what he had learned of himself would ever take that away from him. Even if he now felt a stranger, like he had no right to call it his home village— he wasn’t even Zofian, but…
“Don’t get me wrong, I know I’m doing what I’m meant to do— I know that with the path I walk, I will never be able to just… go back and live there. But that just… it just makes me miss it all the more.”
His expression, serious and severe, turns a little lighthearted after a moment’s pause. “I’ll never forget it… and all of our misadventures when we were kids. Sometimes I… wish things could go back to just being that simple. To our biggest problems being that Gray fell into the creek and we all had to wade into the water to help him get out. Or that we broke some of the fences again…”
