Nancy isn’t a bitch/jerk/slut what have you because she didn’t talk to Steve enough. She is /seventeen years old/. Neither she nor Steve are emotionally mature. The season took place over a period of /days/. The monster hunting trio was criminally neglected by the writers all around. The main focus was Eleven and Will and Max. This show has too few episodes for the number of main characters it has.

Nancy is a 17 year old girl.

The Duffer Brothers gave her one (1) scene with Steve after they broke up

They gave her two (2) scenes with Jonathan that didn’t have to do with Murray or Will or Barb

Try to think like a writer for a second here

Is that enough to dedicate to a character’s complex and confused emotions about two other people she cares for?

Think about it for a bit now

Then ask yourself

Do I hate Nancy for what she did do

I want to believe there’s a missing scene between the closing of the gate and the Snow Ball where Max and El talk about their feelings for their bfs and toward each other and clear the air

El and Mike get to spend more than 2 minutes in the same room AND alone together

Steve and Nancy treating Dustin with compassion, like a true friend, Nancy calling him her favorite of Mike’s friends, that was the icing on the cake, the cherry on top, the best character development, a blessing, a gift.  we need more media that shows compassion like that

Kali bonding with El, wanting to help her, and El taking her advice but applying it to what she wanted and needed, and them parting with mixed feelings, how it was so realistic and not antagonistic at all, how the writing presented both their points of view equally without condemning Kali for her choices but presenting El’s choices as equally important. There’s nothing stopping Kali from coming back into the story, and I’ll be really disappointed if she doesn’t.
