“It’s just me,” he repeated, over and over, as she thrashed and squirmed. He’d seen a strange look in her eyes; they weren’t the eyes he’d seen - full of warmth and quick-witted mischief - but eyes that were glazed and horror-struck, as if she could see some sort of monster he could not. He held her shoulders, rubbing them lightly, trying to soothe her. “It’s just me…”
Slowly, she came to her senses, calming down. He continued to rub her shoulders, unsure if there was much more he could do to soothe her. “It’s me, my lady. Of course, it’s me. Whatever it was you were seeing, it wasn’t real. I’m here, and I’m real. If it helps you stay calm, remember that.”
۞ ~ Glynda shook horrendously even at the feel of Guo Jia’s hands soothing her shoulder. She took a moment to speak again, trying to catch her sanity and breath. This was bad, if he appeared in her mind like that, it meant he was out looking for her. He’s out there somewhere far or near but instilling a prolonged illusion like that just meant that he needed her… and she wasn’t going to grant him that need.
“ Thank goodness.. “She breathed again closing her eyes for a moment. Her head leaning onto his chest as if to rest her mind that just went through hell. “ Thank goodness its you…” she mumbled.~ ۞
