this is a really good question, i think for the most part i'm not sure, seascraper really does feel like its in its own little bubble. but i think if you're willing to take my hand 🫱 the closest thing i can think of is the my brilliant friend saga by elena ferrante if you haven't already read it.
you have to look past the fact that its a 4 novel epic that essentially covers the entire lifespan of 2 characters. i think the prose has some of that haze that seascraper has that almost makes it dreamlike in sections, it has the struggles of an ordinary life, and a lot of the narrative is fixed to naples + the surrounding area as seascraper is to longferry. its not a perfect match but i think there are some similarities in the atmosphere it crafts!
