She had about had it with her daughter's recent attitude and unwillingness to cooperate. Penelope was a moody girl but she was also a helpful one at least until the past couple of days. “I have about had it with the way you are acting, young lady. Would you like tell me what the problem is.” With a sigh, Norma realized that she wasn’t going to get anything out of the headstrong teenager if she continued to speak to her like that. She changed her tone to a softer and more concerned one. “Penelope. I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s wrong? You need to stop shutting me out.”

     “I was wondering -- do you think you would have any interest in coming to help me in the conservatory?”  Cordelia’s tone was mild, though honestly it was a little bit bordering on hopeful, offering the newest student a warm smile.  “I thought it might give us the chance to get to know each other a little better and -- despite what my mother says, herbology is actually a fairly vital part of witchcraft, even in the modern age.”
