My Brief
Initially written before the lockdown happened, I have adapted it to fit in with the measures put in place by the government, therefore ensuring I can do it all from home.

FINAL DESIGN PROJECT PROPOSAL
Name: Alice Pringle Specialism: Digital
Design Project Title: Unconditional
Aims:
To create a brand specifically aimed at children of today, whose parents are more style aware and less gender specific.
Adopting a colour palette that is genderless, bright and that doesn’t limit itself to a specific age group.
Researching illustration artists, both those who work in digital media and those who work in more traditional forms, as well as artists who’s work features dogs, such as David Hockney with his sausage dog paintings.
Finding shape inspiration within nature, where dogs (in my opinion) are at their happiest. Shapes of the waves, rock formations etc.
My goal is to create a collection centred around dogs targeted at children, with a, bold and bright, gender neutral colour palette, and free, playful illustrative work, combining traditional media with digital.
Methodology:
Previously I had used digital processes only within my work, however I would like to combine more traditional methods, such as painting with gouache, using acetate and collage, in with my digital skills, using ProCreate and Photoshop. I’m going to photograph my dog as well as my parents dogs, who’s personalities I know and understand, hopefully being able to capture them both through photography and videos, to the images I create of them.
Proposed final outcomes:
My proposed final outcome would be something targeted towards children, but not limited to that age range. Ideally I would like to create a brand, focusing on one or a few dogs, and show case how the imagery and prints could be used within both childrenswear and interiors.
