i've actually seen some edits for this lurkin around but luckily don't know much about it plot wise so ! let's do this

deception hides in far corners is the story of best friends and literary majors zhenya, beaumont, maren, jimin, and madhu. the five of them joined [Insert Prestigious Literary College] a year prior to the story's events and have become inseparable ever since. what with their obsession all things dark and literary and their homoerotic subtext it makes sense they're also regarded by the rest of the campus (if not by the town itself) as a little Off, but hey. a little bad rep never bothered anyone.

or at least that's what the group thinks until their belovedly eccentric literature teacher is brutally murdered in his own home - and the five of them are dragged out into the spotlight of suspicion.

they were the only people he was close to, the town whispers. they were the only ones who he gave a spare key to, and there was no sign of forced entry. maybe one of them finally snapped. it's just a matter of figuring out which one.

the group vehemently denies these rumors, but it doesn't do them much good. and things only take a turn for the worse from there.

a few days after the murder, the group receives a note slipped under their door that claims to not only be from the murderer, but also that their kill list has five more people on it - them. the group knows they should go to the police, but also that the police is no longer their friend.

it doesn't help that the note is written in each of their alternating handwriting, in a code only the five of them know.

obviously someone is toying with them. someone from the outside who knows them well, someone who they wronged and is out for revenge. but as the five struggle to bring the murderer to justice themselves, they can't help but wonder -
