Y'all know I love James Potter with my whole heart, right? Well, when I write about him I always have this overthinking session where I ask myself what others would think if i named James and the reader's son/daughter anything but Harry.

I want to be free when I write, I wanna create new characters and I wanna do it right. So my final question and conclusion is: if we can write fictions (James x reader for example) that are not canon, why can't I name Jame's child, in MY piece of writing, Regulus? Or maybe Ellie? Or however the sh*t I want?

It makes me mad that everyone wants to keep Harry in the picture, we aren't talking about JK Rowling's writing anymore, we're talking about OUR own writing and if I write a one shot in which Lily and James are not together then I should be free to name a child however I want, alright?
