I am very disappointed.

It’s not that I’m sad about the boatsex, to tell you the truth after so many months I’m already bored by it.

If it’s gonna happen, it will happen... we can’t change this.

But we still have a month until episode 7... I won’t spend it talking about the boatsex, there is a lot more to talk about in the show.

Also tbh the way they said it will happen is so boring to me because it’s a repetitive pattern in Danielle’s storyline to have every man enchanted by her beauty... it’s unrealistic.

What really left me bewildered are the other things said in that “bad fanfiction”.

The annulment of Rhaegar and Elia marriage

I think it’s stupid to use an unforeseen annullament as a plot device to legitimate Jon.

I know the show didn’t show much about Rhaegar and Elia ( many viewers were confused by the TOJ scenes because of this) but even in the books there is nothing that foreshadow an annulment.

And then out of the blue we read this “bad fanfiction” about an annulment.

This is not GRRM writing style... he likes to shock fans but if we reflect about what he wrote we can always found some foreshadowing in his words.

Also let’s talk a little about Rhaegar:

he was the crown prince of the Seven Kingdoms, the second most important person in the Kingdom after the King, every aspect of his life was a public affair... his marriage included.

I’m sure he married Elia in front of all the high Lords of Westeros in the Great Sept of Baelor and since they had two children there are no doubt that their marriage was consumed.

So, my first question is:

how is it possible that a public affair like this was annulled and no one knew it?

Considering the importance of the crown prince imo only the High Septon could have annulled the marriage and if he did it there is no way that no one knew about it in King’s Landing, there are spies everywhere in that city.

My second question is:

If the High Septon was not involved is the annullament valid?

When talking about royalty and marriage annulment the first thing that comes to my mind is a very important historical reference:

the King's great matter, in other words Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon marriage annulment

We all know what happened when the King wanted to annul his marriage to be free to marry someone else.

To make a long story short ( you can read more here):

Henry is best known for his six marriages and, in particular, his efforts to have his first marriage, to Catherine of Aragon, annulled. His disagreement with the Pope on the question of such an annulment led Henry to initiate the English Reformation, separating the Church of England from papal authority and appointing himself the Supreme Head of the Church of England. Despite his resulting excommunication, Henry remained a believer in core Catholic theological teachings.

In view of this, a secret annulment for a member of the royal family marriage is ridiculous imo.

Even more so when I consider that there were Targ who had two wives in that family and GRRM took time to tell us about it.

The North independence

I have talked about this in other posts so it’s clear that for me it’s an important issue.

I just don’t like the whipped Jon that is described in that fanfiction, he is the King in the North not Danielle’s boy toy.

I said something as a joke today, but you know how Freud said “jokingly, we can say everything, even the truth”  and so here is my thuth

I’m rather perplexed because no one told me that Jon “the-North-is-my-home-it’s-part-of-me” Snow would be replaced by Aegon “forget-the-North-I-only-care-for-my-one-and-only-pyromaniac-queen” Targaryen.

The Jon in that fanfiction is another Jon.

Not only he is OOC there is also a great lack of coherence :

he can’t say that the North is part of him in episode 2 and forget about it in episode 7, it’s just bad writing.

How can I really believe that the Jon that we saw in episode 2 will happily give the North to someone from the South?

A Targ that seems to be on her way to become the spitting image of her father.

No, Danielle can’t rule over the North... I know no King but the King in the North whose name is Stark.

My poor Robb died for the North independence and now the North belongs to Jon, Sansa, Arya and Bran.

If Jon will forget about this I can’t wait for his cousins to help him remember.

 Too many Aegons around

I’m not disappointed about this, just extremely annoyed that with all of the possible Targ names in their family history Rhagael decided to have two Aegons.

I’ve been wondering for a long time which was the real theme of GTA V. Yes, we all know the topics: guns, robbery, violence, killing, cars etc.  But which is the hidden theme behind? The one we can identify with?   I think it’s crisis.

Identity crisis, middle age crisis, relationships’ crisis.  GTA V is a game about crisis.

Michael is a man in the middle of a terrible crisis: his marriage is sinking, his family is terrible, he’s living off a betrayal, his whole life is now built on lies. You can tell he’s depressed.

Franklin is a boy-turned-adult who’s also in the middle of a crisis: yes, being a gangsta in the hood is all fun, until it gets serious. But it never gets serious. He’s an amateur and he doesn’t like it, because he’s ambitious.

Also he has some big issues with his identity: it’s not a case that it’s two of his childhood friends, Lamar and Tanisha, who always reprimand him, treating him like some kind of a traitor.

Trevor is living chaos, okay, but he’s also a man in deep crisis. And one of the triggering causes is abandon. In the end, Trevor is neglected child: by his father, his mother, the one he thought could be his best friend.

At the end of the plot, the main characters are finally TRYING to solve their crisis: Michael is trying to get his family and life back, Trevor got his best friend back and is still fighting his demons, Franklin finally found his dimension, even if the player knows he’s still got a lot to think of.  The logical resolution of the plot would be the end of the crisis, or at least the attempt. Franklin finds himself in front of a choice: he can kill Trevor, the crazy psychopath who has done nothing but cause trouble, or kill Michael, his mentor, the one who took him out of the street. 

Both the endings are interesting, but completely delete the previous development of the characters: in ending A, Franklin shows he’s just become what his mentor was. He kills off the craziest shit on this planet, I agree, but also a man who’s always been loyal to him and who’s also saved his ass. The worst part of it is that Michael helps him. And there go all the improvements he has made, doing once again something he will deeply regret in the future. And I say this because, after ending C, Michael apologies to Trevor.

In ending B, Franklin shows even more what sort of a reptilian dick (as Trevor would say) he’s become. He kills his mentor, the man who was the main part of his rescue from crisis.

Trevor doesn’t help him, but still he doesn’t do anything.

That’s how Franklin becomes a younger Michael, even worse, because the only reason he has to assassinate his new best friends is his own well-being.

  While ending A got really on my nerves, ending B is somewhat captivating, because the apprentice vs mentor theme is always fascinating. But then again, during the game there’s no hint to a rivalry between Michael and Franklin.

I won’t even say how Franklin was badly developed, it’s clear that the plot focused on Michael and Trevor’s relationship, and maybe the authors wanted to give him some sort of authority on the fate of the whole story.  He started the game and he ended it.
