"Who knew Sonic could actually cook something other than chili-dogs?"

"Hey, it's not like I make them all the time! I actually have a diverse diet-"

"Would they be other types of chili-dogs?"

"Come on, you're killing me here, Ames-"

"Don't worry, I'm sure your cooking isn't that bad."

"What do you mean 'that bad'? You've tried my food before!"

"And when was the last time he tried it?"

"You're all against me, I see how it is-"

He turned away with a small hmph.

"Anyways, where's Shadow? Thought he'd be here by now."

"Didn't he say he was getting someone? That's what he told me, at least."

Shadow appeared in front of the table, along with Rouge.

"Let me guess, still not used to us?"

"You know how he is~ Besides, I asked him if I could come along. I've always wanted to try Amy's cooking!"

"Well, you'll be trying mine AND Sonic's."

"Oh boy, this will be interesting."

"Are we really spending the whole time making jokes about my cooking?"

He then chuckled a bit. Everyone was accounted for.

Once everyone was settled in, Amy spoke up.

"Well, I think we should all say what we're grateful for. Just to get into that Thanksgiving spirit! Who wants to start?"

There was a long silence.

"I-I'll do it since no one else wants to."

Tails cleared his throat.

"Well, I'm thankful for being able to be around you guys! Especially Sonic and Knuckles, who were with me the whole day on my birthday! It felt nice to be together, just like the old times."

"...Well, I'm grateful for the fact that despite my disapproval of this whole idea in the first place...we've managed to keep it open this far."

"Seems like this place is starting to grow on you~"

"...a little bit."

"Heh, knew you'd come around to it."

"...Anyways, what are you thankful for?"

"Me? Well..."

Sonic stood up and first went to Amy.

"I'm thankful for our lovely manager and chef here who somehow keeps everything together,"

Amy's cheeks flushed a bright pink.

"Aw, Sonic-"

He then went to Tails.

"I'm thankful for my lil bro here, whose gadgets and smarts never cease to amaze me,"

"Sonic, you never cease to amaze as well!"

"We're both cool like that."

He went to Knuckles.

"I'm very grateful for our grumpy security man, even if he barely does anything-"

"Hey, watch it-"

Knuckles had an aggressive but playful tone to his voice.

"Just kidding, love ya Knucks for all that you do!"

"Hmph, you better."

Then it was Shadow's turn.

"I'm thankful for our server who manages to beat Knuckles in brooding-"

Shadow scoffed as he rolled his eyes.

"-but has been doing great work this whole time. Doing great with the socializing you've done, by the way."

"...I'd rather listen than speak."

Sonic went to Rouge.

"And I'm thankful for our new addition to the group, Rouge! I know she'll be doing amazing as usual."

"Oh, you know I will~ I think I speak for both myself and Shadow when I say I'm grateful for all of you guys giving us this chance to be here. If I didn't like my job or the jewels more, I'd probably stay here~"

"Aw, is that what you think, Shadow?"

He turned his head away in response, trying to hide his sort of bashful expression.

As Sonic finally went back to his seat, Amy cleared her throat.

"...Well, I'm thankful for all of you guys. Really. Sure, I had help with the building amd everything because of AT...but you guys are what make it strive. Even if we have our disagreements and moments, I couldn't have asked for a better team. I'm...so glad you're here."

"..Shucks Amy, you might make some of us cry with that corny speech of yours."

"You included?"

"...maybe-"

Amy picked up her glass of cider.

"A toast, to a great future and to great memories with all of you!"

Everyone else picked up their glasses as well.

"Hear, hear!"

They brought their glasses together, signaling the start of a new unity between each other.

AT was looking from afar off, out of sight from the rest.

"It's good that they have each other. They'll need that bond for what may come."

"And what is coming, hm?~"

A being similar to AT, however black and green instead, appeared behind.

"Whatever you're planning."

"I'm just trying to fulfill my purpose~ The one we all have."

"As am I, Tox. And I will not have you get in the way again."

"Come on now..."

Tox wrapped their arm around AT's shoulder, which made them flinch.

"...it's Thaŋƙsgiviŋg here, isŋ't it? Be glad I haveŋ't done aŋƴthiŋg more ƴet. At least, more to them."

"...O-Off of me."

"I thought you loved ıt when I do that? Do you not mıss ıt?"

"I miss you being my friend."

"...Wə can't always gət what wə want. Now, lət's watch thə show, shall wə not?~"

Tox's gaze fell onto the group, more specifically...Sonic.
