I'm rewriting this cause because I accidentally discarded the draft instead of posting it ahkgtsaaaaa. I'm so mad at myself. Ugh. Anyway you've opened the yaoi pandora's box (mostly nfsw warning ig)—

The first time it happened they were beating the living shit out of each other and Rehman licked the blood off Aslam's lips and waited for his reaction. Aslam returned the favour by slamming him down and fucking Rehman till he could see stars and couldn't tell up from down.

Rehman had thought it would be a one off but then the trysts continued in secret, in Aslam's office after hours, in the backseat of a car in one of Jamali's parties, plastered against the wall in empty warehouses, on his fours on the carpet in his study— Rehman figured he was keeping the SP on a leash by letting him dominate him in bed. But he didn't know he'll soon get caught in his own trap.

Aslam is hung like a horse and a sex god on the sheets and that didn't quite help with Rehman's mental or physical state. Once the older man had left his legs shaking for a whole day after fucking Rehman into a near state of subdrop.

Aslam had worn his uniform once for receiving a medal from the state and Rehman had given him such a suggestive once over that he had dragged the cackling man to his office and bend him over his desk after the event. He had adamantly refused that he had a kink. He had started to stay over after sex. Sometimes Aslam would cook and carry him to the table, like he was a small monkey or a clingy child.

Aslam realised it when one winter night, standing in a political event he had felt Rehman shiver quietly beside him in the cold and had handed him his patoo shawl. The younger man had cocked an eyebrow but wrapped the fabric around himself anyway. Then Rehman had looked around shiftily for a bit before kissing his cheek quickly. It had been so fast barely anyone could notice. Aslam had attributed the fluttering inside the base of his chest to acidity.

Aslam had given him a nickname - 'shahdein' (thank you @hyade for this hc). Honey-like. Rehman liked to joke that it was a parody for mad honey poison that drove people insane before killing them. It was endearing. Even if Rehman realised they are probably spiralling towards an impending doom anyway. To be turned mad before the final hit.

Aslam would sing to him the cringiest romantic poetry ever in the middle of sex making Rehman laugh and then follow it by pressing the filthiest most explicit prose from the most obscure and scandalous texts he knew into the latter's sweaty quivering skin and dishevelled hair. It always made Rehman's cheeks burn and stomach knot.

and I love that you question me about this, because for starters I don't think his deck theme is mismatched at all, if anything I think the only mismatched theme of his is the one that reinforces his CEO role, because among my many headcanons about Reiji, I think that he never wanted or was even interested into becoming a CEO at all, and less so at such a young age, and in fact among other headcanons I have is that after the series finale he temporarily steps down from the company and Himika is the one taking the reins from then on, so he can have a normal life for a little bit.

Basically I think of this as proof that Reiji is at heart someone who enjoys the pursuit for knowledge, by having an cards, which he created, based in mythology which imo goes hand in hand with history, it shows his interest in learning about how people thought and explained things they couldn't make sense of, so they imagined these gods and creatures who dictated the fate of humankind sometimes showing mercy and granting boons and others being cruel, petty and using people as their personal playthings, I don't think it's a coincidence that most of the mythological inspirations are from monsters who loved to wreck havoc, like Brownies, Lilith, Lamia, Gryphon, or that are connected to entities who would bring misfortune or the end of the world like Pandora, Typhon or Baphomet, other cards are straight up named after events that will bring or announce the apocalypse, like Kali Yuga, Deus ex Machina, Requiem, I don't think these ones are big brainers, he lived his childhood and teens with the fear that his own father would bring about the end of the world he knew and he needed to stop him, in fact, all the mythical knights and kings in his DDD archetype, I don't think they symbolize his role of CEO, I think they symbolize him trying to construct himself after these heroes who defended their land and protected everyone.

Then you have the other part of his deck, the one that's named after famous scientists and some science tools as well, because I think, that this is where he found his answer, in the face of dealing with a potential war with actual monsters brought to life with Solid Vision, he saw the light at the end of the tunnel through science and technology, into preparing himself and the city for the attack, and really, overall I think he was an inquisitive nature that leads him to seek answers, we could call this the scientist part of him, I think that even in an AU where he got to have a more normal life, with his parents and Yuya still created the pendulum summon, he would have still been able to crack the mystery and been able to reproduce the type of cards.

i had this idea that he would look sort of but not quite like nemuro, the same way that nemuro made his secretary dress like tokiko. i think that would be thematically fun, but i don't think enough about tokiko to know whether that would actually fit her character or not

That is an excellent question because Tokiko is rather hard to interpret for me as well! What kind of life did she live after Ohtori? I nevertheless have this view that Tokiko is one of the few who actually managed to "escape" Ohtori, to actually leave it behind and start a new life. So, what would it be like?

A quick note about Nemuro/Mikage. I think there is no way he would have made his secretary to dress in certain way :D. I think it's like it was said in the show, that he just saw a random woman whose appearance already reminded him of Tokiko (probably without noticing it himself, rather just thinking, hmmm, why does this woman look so unsettling, i cannot understand) and asked her to be his secretary then. (I also think that he pretty much ignored her after that. We don't see him interacting with her at all. I actually would like to write a bit funny fanfic from the secrtetary's pov where she is just really confused and annoyed, like, what does this weird teenager want for me, first he commanded me, then just ignored me in this small office room, what the fuck is wrong with him)

OKAY but back to Tokiko! Because she was able to leave Ohtori, I think she would not be so clinged to her past anymore. She has experienced tragic events: her brother has died, her trusted (?) friend (?) has committed a masscare and probably also died. I think she probably escaped to other side of the world and started a totally new life, leaving everything behind. Or at least tried to!

But what would her supposed husband be like? She says to Akio that she has a loving husband. I'd like to think it's true, not just pretense towards Akio. But would the husband be something like her old lover, Akio himself? (I think Tokiko had some genuine romantic feelings towards Akio, that it was not the case that Akio totally seduced her. It's also they both are clearly adults (or at least over 20). She was probably actually very invested in that at least for a while. I see a possiblity that has implied by @capturedbystars, that while Mamiya died, Tokiko was not present, because she was making out with Akio)

Nevertheless, because she was supposed to escape, perhaps her new husband was nothing Akio-like. It at least "feels" like a better option for me.

Would she then be inclined to hook up with a guy that reminds her about Nemuro, this exentric teenager that was part of her and her brother life for a while? I actually don't see it likely, because the show makes it really clear that Tokiko had no romantic feelings towards Nemuro. She was 5+ years older than him (and the show even makes the secretary break a fourth wall and state these exact words to the audience as a representer of Tokiko in the ep 23).

As I have elaborated elsewhere, I see Tokiko as a kind and good-intending person, who nevertheless might have both good and a bit adverse impact to Nemuro.
