How does the time your muse lives in influence their lifestyle? Are they happy they’re born in their time, or do they fantasize about a different era?

I think, ideally, Beckett would want to live in a world where there was no war, but obviously he’s accepted that there’s no such thing. I believe that he loves the time he lives in now and wouldn’t want to live in any other era. As messed up as society is, it’s made some wonderful advancements in terms of civil rights that Beckett truly respects and appreciates. Land of the free, home of the brave. 

Is your muse an optimist or pessimist and how does this influence their choices?

It varies, but I’d like to think he’s an optimist. When he was younger, it was a lot more prominent. He thought he’d go off to war and win it, not necessarily romanticizing the idea of war at all, but believing completely that this is what he was born to do. He thought of war as fighting for a good cause, doing his best to help out of just pure interest in saving others, but when he came home from war he became really cynical about it, traumatized by all the horrors he’s seen. But he tries to be an optimist in the sense that he tries to see the good in people, always, and tries to help them see that. It influences his choices a lot in the sense that he’s still doing things he would have never done, had he been eaten alive by his PTSD when he came home, but he’s doing better now. 

Is your muse looking for a long term relationship? Are they in one? What do they think of marriage and binding themselves to someone?

Yes and no. Beckett is not looking for a long term relationship because the lifestyle he lives is constantly dangerous, constantly exhausting, and there’s no way he knows he’s going to live when he wakes up in the morning and goes to work. He wouldn’t want anyone to go through worrying about them every single day, especially when he’s barely home. He knows how much it can hurt someone not knowing if their loved one is going to live. But another way of looking at it is that yes, he reaaally wants to be in a relationship, wants that companionship more than anything. Because really, he’s incredibly lonely, and he’s just aching to be taken care of, aching to have someone there with him to just be there. He’ll never say it out loud, though. In general, he thinks marriage is a great thing - it’s something he wants someday. 

How selfish/selfless is your muse? To what extent would they sacrifice themselves for others and is there anything they’d not give up?
