Don't chase the rabbit !
Heās not too sure when over the past two years he startedfrequenting this specific bar so often; he needed something to do whenever there werenāt any clients asking fortattoos. That was the only problem about his position in the family, he wasonly needed when there were customers, and his only customers were usually returningonesāhe was barely getting any business. So his days were usually spent tryingto find some type of way to occupy himself, but with the current war going on inthe Korean peninsulaā¦there wasnāt much he could do without being questioned. His time was spent in just the businesses Illicit ran or protectedāwhich wereusually bars, clubs, brothels, the occasional motel⦠the influence he wasgiving himself was absolutely great.
But he could admit it was better than risking his life fighting in some useless war; well, what wasnātĀ better than that? He was happy with this life, much happier than he had been with his parents in the states. There was more freedom here that he hadnāt been given with being a vital worker on his familyās farm. No more days endlessly spent in the blazing sun, and it was all up to him on what events the day would be consisted of.Ā
He was even happier when the end of the fighting finally came, and he could actually go out and experience more of Busan that he hadnāt had the chance to see. Or at least, he could go to other bars and didnāt have to see the same people he had seen for years.Other bars full of overlyjoyful people celebrating the soon-to-come return of their spouses or brothersor sons, and it was times like these where Jae just loved how reckless peoplecould get with their choices. How theyād always pass their limits of tolerance andleave themselves vulnerable and soeasy to charm.
He finds himself walking into a dimly-lit club, a smileimmediately adorning his features as he came into view with the amount ofvariety he had to choose from, and honestly, he wished itād be more challengingfor him to bring someone homeāit was starting to get a little boring. But noworries, it wasnāt hard to quickly turn up the level in how much fun itactually was; all he needed was competition.
And this is where he spots the male. Heās sitting at the bar witha drink in hand, probably had just arrived not too long ago considering hecertainly didnāt look as intoxicated as everyone elseāperfect. Jae neededsomething anyways, at least a little buzz in his mind to help him, so he walksover and slides into the chair right beside him. He notices the slight glancein his direction as he takes a seat, but he ignores it for now and only ordershis own drink. Itās only when the male is distracted does he take a quick look-- Hisentire aura seems to yell confidence, and Jae mentally congratulates himselffor picking the right player right before speaking up, āāHow much you wanna betI can get her name before youĀ can?āĀ
Thereās a small nod towards the direction of a girl, looking hesitant and lostin the crowd of people, honestly too easy; then Jae looks towards the malesitting beside him now that heās got his attentionāand heās a little thrownoff. Heās attractive to say the least, and Jae was expecting a gaze that matched his air-- but instead he has these big and innocent, almostpuppy-like eyes that contrast completely to the rest of his features; thereās aslight pause where he has to bring himself back together, ignore the suddenurge to charm him instead of the girl, before continuing with his words,āIāll betāa drink, at most.ā
