You sat in the Weathervane in a corner seat away from the window. In your right hand, you held a mug of (coffee/tea) and your phone in the other. You scrolled through your phone, the sound of the shop becoming a buzzing sound in the background. The sound of footsteps approaching your seat had you looking up quickly before looking back down at your phone.
“Hey, Y/N.” A voice called out as they sat in the seat opposite you.
“Galpin.“ You replied coldly.
“How are you?” Tyler asked in an attempt to make a conversation.
“Better before you came.” You replied, looking up to glare at him.
“Okay! Why do you hate me so much?!” Tyler exclaimed after he tried and failed to make conversation with you.
“If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m not going to tell you.” You replied before standing up and walking out. Principal Weems stood nearby when you hid in the shadows and disappeared. You reappeared in the dark woods not too far from Nevermore Academy.
“Ah! You have returned!” A masculine voice called out as you walked past the gate of Nevermore to a derelict cabin, towards the back of Nevermore.
“Hello, Andras.” You replied as the shadows combined to create a creature. Your hands went to touch his head when the sound of a twig snapping echoed through the woods. You spread your hands apart as shadows created a weapon for you to use. “Who’s there?”
“It’s just me.” Tyler walked out from behind a tree before looking at you with wide pleading eyes.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” You asked bemused, your hands touching each other and disintegrating the weapon. Tyler began to walked towards you while Andras went back inside the cabin to give the two of you privacy.
“Wednesday found out I’m a Hyde and that you know. She called us monsters. Are we?” Tyler trembled, his eyes tearing up as he looked at you for some semblance of comfort.
"Monsters? Humanity is the monster. My abilities should not make me your villain. Let alone anyone else’s." You replied, Tyler wrapping his arms around your waist as he nestled his head into the crook of your neck. “Humanity sees different as dangerous and we get treated like absolute crap for it. At some point, some of us think that if a villain... a monster is what they want and all they see us as, then that’s what they get.”
“But we’re not right?” Tyler asked, his voice muffled as he spoke.
“No, Tyler. We are just people in bad situations who may make questionable choices.” You explained as you rubbed a hand down Tyler’s back. After a few more minutes, the two of you broke the hug before walking into the cabin, hands intertwined. You both headed towards the bedroom, where the two of you laid down on the bed, Tyler’s head rested on your chest and his leg slung over you. As the two of you dozed off, you whispered into Tyler’s hair, “Remember Tyler. We’re not monsters nor villains.”
