HEYYY I finally did some Replinami based on the lovely Winter Masquerade Dance outfits that @robinwinghood designed! Except without the actual masquerade masks because I drew Namiâs face before deciding what the rest of the drawing would be, and I liked it too much to cover up.Â

Are we gonna see how everyone looked like in prom someday?
Maybe someday, but honestly donât hold your breath. Iâm not great at drawing things I ~intend~ to draw, especially when it involves clothing design. So outfits for various school dances and events will probably just continue to trickle into the dances tag randomly.Â
Like, I have a lot of âyay or nayâ type opinions on what sorts of things I would or wouldnât want to see various characters in, but not narrowed down enough to actually design the final outfits.Â
Would you mind if I end up trying to design these at some point in the future? I love drawing masquerade stuff and themed costumes.
Omg I wouldnât mind at all!! I canât design clothes to savemy life, as evidenced by literally every drawing on this blog XD And since itâsa bunch of teens with unique perspectives just given the guideline of âfantasy masqueradeball,â thereâs no limit to how different characters/couples/groups couldinterpret it. Like no specific fashion era to stick to, I mean. Some kidsprobably are lazy and just wear regular prom or homecoming style clothes, buthere in Sitcomland thereâs also a grand suspension of disbelief in terms of whocould get their hands on super awesome costumes. The school conveniently keepsold theatre costumes that are conveniently perfect and conveniently fit, craftycharacters suddenly have professional-level skills, etc. XD
Honestly the only thing I know I want for absolute sure(beyond that people stick to colors and designs that seem âthem,â ie. no Naminein super bold colors or Olette in a skirt) is that Riku has his hair back in aponytail or braid. This is winter of junior year, so itâs still long. And ponytail/braid!Rikuis a necessary part of my complete breakfast. *^*

Ohmigosh, if you REALLY want to go crazy with the Beauty-and-the-Beast angle, for the masquerade, Rokuro could be wearing a mask that includes a furry hood, to hide his hair under.
Go crazy? DON'T MIND IF I DO! I can totally see the advantage of him doing the mystery man thing in earnest so that fewer people harass them at the dance. They are a pretty âwtf?!â couple at first glance, especially it being their first date. Also I was 100% thinking full-on fantasy ball theme with capes and slightly costume-y outfits. I really like the idea that there are a lot of themed dances and people go all-out for them. Like thereâs probably a generic semi-formal for everyone and at least a formal prom for seniors, but also other more wacky ones. Halloween costume dance, fantasy ball dance, 80s dance, beach day themed dance... might cause some dress code issues but THE POINT is that IRL youâre hard-pressed to get a group of teenagers to even all commit to semi-formal dress, but here in Sitcomland itâs just a fact of life that everyone does their best for dress-up events.

I did some homecoming once that I kinda liked, though the art was a little fail that day. I should give that another go. Semi-formal is much less intimidating than full-on gownânâtux territory XDÂ
