Outback NSW 2022. Mutawintji National Park has some of the best indigenous rock art in the west. Both orchre paintings and the possibly more impressive petroglyps. Sadly, due to our mistreatment of the indigenous peoples over 200 years, the ochre art will fade away because the stories it tells have now been lost with the death of the last elders who knew, before they were allowed to pass it on to the next generation. Fortunately, the petroglyps will last “forever” even if the detail of their story becomes clouded.
