#musing: layla

When Layla was in the third grade she had a hamster named Princess who lived in one of those plastic connectable cages that looked like a pink castle (those types of cages are actually pretty darn terrible for hamsters but Layla didn’t know any better and her parents didn’t take any time to actually do the research so). She absolutely loved her and cried for days after princess died, she still has a framed picture of princess on one of her shelves in her room and she hasn’t had a pet since.
