The air wielders use advanced weather control technology to shield their territory and resources from their neighbouring rivals, one example of it is the permastorm that closes all nautical access from the country where Jasper lives. They call it "the barrier". Think of it like a trump Wall made of supercell mega clouds Quite happy with those clouds, not sure if you'd recognise it as a supercell but it looks menacing enough you wouldn't go fly there, right?

This is a redraw from one of the first drawing of this series that was started during inktober2020, i missed drawing airplanes <3 So here's a glider and a paraglider, both flying machines of air wielders that can be flown by using air magic. I've got some research for glider designs on my instagram, but recently i've been reading a lot of Nausicaa and steampunk stories with more fantastic design for flying machines and i'd like to dive into redesigning the whole fleet into something more fantastic and magical ! But also my intj brain needs it to make sense and to be practical ahhh Like, how does Aang in ATLA actually flyies his little paraglider, the position looks so uncomfortable and it must be so straining on his shoulders, neck, lower back and psoas muscles, it looks so flawless in the animation but when i try to apply this to my own drawings, i'm like "no one is fit enought to fly something like this" and it hurts my abs just thinking about it
