You have probably gotten this question before but do you have a favorite Anidala moment?? Or like a handful of scenes you would consider your favorites?? Could be from any piece of SW media ofc :)
Oh God, I actually donāt think Iāve gotten an ask like this before so youāre in fact the first š
I pretty much love all their scenes (lol) but a lot of my fave Anidala scenes scale from across the 3 films and a lot of the novels too! Iāll go with the movie scenes that I also equally love in the novelizations.
1. Anidala picnic/meadow scene!
Adorable moment of two people falling in love and getting to know one another again after reuniting 10 years later. I love how down bad Anakin is and how he doesnāt hide his jealousy and obvious affection and attraction to her. And PadmĆ© slowly coming to acceptance of her feelings as well, and learning not to shy away from them. Anakin really is irresistible. The novel makes it all the more clear what PadmĆ©ās feelings are and how badly sheās falling for Anakin too.
2. ROTS reunion scene
The clear adoration and love in both their faces, words to each other, and actions is well emulated the most in this scene imho. Anakin kissing PadmĆ© on the lips in open space, moving down to kiss her neck, declaring that he doesnāt care if anyone finds out theyāre married now and the āyes, here.ā š (the novel and script version of this is super sweet, and elaborates more on how pained and suffered they were being apart and how happy they were to finally be together again.
3. Anakin & PadmĆ© Force bond/connection scene (PadmĆ©ās Ruminations)
Can anyone blame me?? We all know itās well established through the novelizations and other EU material how Anakin & PadmĆ© have a Force connection and bond with one another and this scene in both the movie and novel donāt disappoint to showcase that to us. The desperate longing, love, desire, and passion these two hold for one another is nothing short of soulmates. And I canāt go without posting the novelization version to this scene because itās just too good.
āHis agony somehow became an invisible hand, stretching out through the Force, a hand that found her, far away, alone in her apartment in the dark, a hand that felt the silken softness of her skin and the sleekā ācoils of her hair, a hand that dissolved into a field of pure energy, of pure feeling that reached inside herā
And now he felt her, really felt her in the Force, as though she could have been some kind of Jedi, too, but more than that: he felt a bond, a connection, deeper and more intimate than heād ever had before with anyone, even Obi-Wan; for a precious eternal instant he was herĀ ā¦Ā he was the beat of her heart and he was the motion of her lips and he was her soft words as though she spoke a prayer to the starsā
I love you, Anakin. I am yours, in life, and in death, wherever you go, whatever you do, we will always be one. Never doubt me, my love. I am yours.
āand her purity and her passion and the truth of her love flowed into him and through him and every atom of him screamed to the Force how can I let her die?ā
Everything about this makes me scream and sob into a pillow. If true love and soulmatism had a face itād be them. This scene is one of the best moments to show us why Anakin & PadmĆ© weāre meant to be, fated lovers, and are the very beat of each others hearts and their souls intertwined. This moment perfectly captures how inseparable they are from one another even as things fall apart around them.
