A beautiful day in Wigtown!
Well, part of today was misty and a bit wet as well, but we had some sunshine for a few hours!
I was able to enjoy the nice weather on a beautiful walk, thanks to a volunteer/new friend from town!
My mom ran the bookstore and I came back to some raucous music and completed alphabetizing.
Today was a quiet day at the store, and we spent most of the afternoon with two of our new Wigtown friends. People here have been really welcoming, and it has been delightful to learn more about their interests and stories. I was also able to have some quality fireside time with a cat.
Trips to co-op across street so far: at least 6
Two highlights of the evening:
I was able to hold the class I teach over Zoom from the bookshop! It was special to show my students around a bit. We used Zoom for classes so much during the pandemic lockdown; it was nice to use Zoom because of adventuring!
The Chippy was open! Ever since watching Derry Girls, I have wanted to visit a chip shop. The Frying Scotsman did not disappoint and we were even able to try mushy peas for the first time in the UK.
Finally, for those in the area: on Friday at The Open Book from 4-6pm, we will be hosting The Old Bank Bookshop Buskers!
We attempted (and basically failed) to run literary games this afternoon but we are hopeful that Friday night will be the chance to enjoy music and socialize together (with snacks)!
