"Thanks Eddie." she replied, her voice soft as she nursed her glass, eyes glancing over to where Buck had dozed off nearby. When she invited the two of them over for dinner, she hadn't expected her brother to fall asleep leaving her and Eddie to chat alone. "But frankly, I'd rather talk about the two of you. Now, I don't mean to pry, but you two are very close... I know Evan cares about you a great deal."

"Yeah... It's very real." Mira heard the way her own voice trembled slightly as she spoke. This was not something that she ever saw in her future, in their future. They hadn't exactly discussed this as a possibility but perhaps she had been naive in thinking that it wouldn't be something that could happen. Alas, she was wrong. "I don't know... I mean- I'm forty two. Maybe if I was ten years younger but now?" She paused for a moment. "At the same time... The idea of being a mom isn't... well, it's not really scaring me as much as I thought it would."

"Oh there is?" Danny raised his eyebrows at the response, smirking as he looked the other man up and down. "Go on, then. Humour me. You might be surprised by what I enjoy."

"You're funny." he replied, pursing his lips to blow out the smoke, letting it float between them for a few moments of silence. "Because... What if my instincts tell me that you're bullshitting me every time you say you're not into me? And that you're really just dying to rip my clothes off every single time I walk into the room? Because that's what my instincts are saying."

"I'm glad. I'm really glad to hear that... I'll admit, I've not done this for a very long time, so to know that you're not ready to run is definitely a win in my book."

"Look, I don't like this shit either, man. But word is these guys are trouble and I think it would benefit both of us if they disappeared. If you catch my drift."

"If there were cameras I'd definitely be questioning the last twenty something years of friendship." she replied, teasing before she pondered what he said. "Come on... That's not fair. On either of us, actually. You're amazing, Knox. You're one of the most amazing people I know." She spoke with enthusiasm, the kind that she was known for when she genuinely meant what she said. "You're smart and funny and handsome and- I'm really not helping my cause here, am I?" She felt her cheeks blushing as she dropped her gaze. "Look... Knox, if I had meant what I said last night... Would that make things weird?"
