One of my best friends in the whole world is muse09 aka Ashley! We have actually been buds for I think it is 6 years now...(That is how old my DA account is, at least!) and I think I just need to talk about how amazing this girl is!
She is one of the most hard working people I have ever known, the sweetest and most selfless! I am super glad that we met in the good ol’ DA comment section--although they were awkward times, I am so grateful!
I get to talk to Ashley basically every day--and we sure do! It is usually a high-light of my day to chat with her.
What spurred me to write this schmoopy post is something Ashley recently said to me--that she believed in my art and that I could make it doing what I wanted to do. Now, people have told me this before, but I can never tell if they really mean it, or if they secretly wanna add on “But don’t you want a steadier job?” or “Are you sure you will go anywhere?” Strangers have straight up told me to my face that I should be a teacher instead, or that someone else they knew went to art school and failed miserably. Nice pep talks.
Well, when I heard it from Ashley--and I kid you not, here--I burst into uncontrollable tears! When someone who you have been looking up to for so long, and admire so much as a friend and fellow artist, tells you something like this...I guess it really hits a cord. I can get pretty emotional in the late AM moments in my bedroom, but dang. Even I was like...GET IT TOGETHER GURL.
I just wanna say that I love my friend who I met online 6(ish) years ago!! Thank you for sending me letters and packages even though we text each other every day, thank you for sharing your awesome music taste with me, thank you for introducing me to new comics and art supplies...DANG thank you for giving me my first copic marker ever! (I still have it! Dried up and sort of sad looking now, but I still have it!) Thank you for doodling our cute lil’ Supernatural Critter Boyfriends! Every time you post a new one, my heart skips a beat! MWAH I LOVE YOU ASH!
