This day was supposed to be routine. Or at least, as routine as something could be given the state of the world at that moment. In the years since the fall of Amestris, the land where people once bustled had become overrun with vegetation which could barely keep up with the unyeilding appetites of the mannequin soldiers that roamed aimlessly, seeking out any life they could, be it plant or animal or any human who dared stray too far in.
In the north, many of them were frozen, their bodies seizing up as they attempted to climb the wall in order to reach Drachman soldiers who'd taken over the fortress in the aftermath of Father's nation wide transmutation circle. They now served as guards there, ensuring none of the creatures set foot on Drachman soil. It was an occurance that was happening all around the nations borders, and Xing was no different.
Construction was slow, but nevertheless the project that was widely known as Xing's Great Wall was progressing, something which was on occasion overseen by the empress herself; Lin Yao and her remaining retainer Fuu. Really though, these things were not as important in Lin's mind as the job she was sent to do, and most of her time that morning had been spent pouring over plans and notes on a sturdy wooden table, which was also laden with various kinds of food to keep her strength up.
She almost had an apple in her mouth when a guard entered hastily with news that they'd found someone wandering in the desert.
And suddenly, the empresses day had become much more interesting...
