RANDOM CHARACTER BUILDING QUESTIONS HOUR : A lot of people have playlists for their characters, but it can take a long time to listen to a whole playlist. If you could choose ONE SONG to have your followers listen to in order to better understand your portrayal, what would it be? ( for the character/s of your choice, or all of them if you so dare! )
Ooooohhh Missa this is a really really fun question!
Okay, so. I will have to try and narrow this down. I'm gonna stick to only my monster-y muses cuz that's what mood I'm really in lately as if that wasn't obvious. But I could totally revisit this another time for more muses!
Lessee.
I thiiiiink for Red here I'd go with "Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. It's old-fashioned, it sounds almost cheerful and upbeat like HB tries to be, but the lyrics talk about an impending doom that could either refer to his line of work or to his destiny to bring about the end of the world. Plus I see this totally being one of his favorite songs.
Not letting myself cheat and say 'Evermore' so instead I'm gonna go with "Creep" by Radiohead. It goes well with his self-loathing and desire to be seen and loved. And now I can't use this song for any of the other monsters so I gotta get creative XD
"What Could Have Been" by Sting and Ray Chen. I can't hear those lyrics and not think about the Creature. "I am the monster you created." "I want you to hurt like you hurt me today." "Why don't you love who I am?" IT FITS SO MUCH!
Also fun fact Sting actually played Frankenstein (the scientist, not the creation) in a movie from 1985 called the Bride. So there's that.
Lucy gets a song, ironically, sung by another tragic character named Lucy. "A New Life" from Jekyll & Hyde. Because I will never stop being sad for this poor girl who all she ever dreamed of was a happy life with people she loved who loved her back, and the fact she never got it in the novel is the most heartbreaking part of the whole story.
And now we get a couple secret menu muses I haven't used much yet! ...Or at all!
"Epiphany" from Sweeny Todd, specifically the one by Josh Groban. Not only because that's my voice claim for the Phantom, but also because this is exactly the unhinged, vengeful, tragic mood that embodies my interpretation of Erik.
Aaaand the Mouse King. So very very obscure I haven't even bothered to advertise him on my blog so far. But for him I'm going with "I'm the Bad Guy" by Caleb Hyles, originally from Wander Over Yonder. Because it's such a fun villain song and I like to think the Mouse King enjoys his villainy.
