For all his months stuck in London, there were still a great many things Cassian had yet to learn about the human world. He hadn't the slightest idea what she was referring to by what sign she was, and he would have found the the idea that the stars had a say in personalities laughable. Humans believed the oddest things, yet few of them recognized magic even when it stared them in the face. He knew because most of their gazes slid right past his wings, whether he bothered to glamour them or not.
He was wiping down equipment at the gym he worked in. Training warriors was the only thing Cassian had ever known how to do. Now, he supposed he had to content himself with helping humans prepare for bikini season and watching dudebros flex in the gym's many mirrors. He did find Kat's friend amusing though, and he let out a booming laugh. "What's the sign say? Beware the tiny, adorable human?"

It rained nine months of the year in Seattle. Having lived there all her life, aside from a few brief years in California for college, Tana was familiar with this, but it figured it was the one day she'd forgotten her umbrella. She could swear the sun had been shining that morning when she left, but now the sky was an ominous gray, threatening to pour at any minute.
She was eyeing the sky and contemplating the distance from the doorway of the coffee shop to the nearest subway station and decided to risk it. No sooner had she dashed outside, of course, than the sky opened up. Within seconds she was soaked through. She ducked under the overhang of a closed shop, glancing down at herself. Her denim jacket was shades darker from the rain, and water dripped from the hem of her dress and the ends of her long red hair. Drowned rat chic.
